Employee Spotlight: Garth Epley⚡️

From graduate to peer support specialist, Garth brings lived experience and heart to the work every day.

“I work in recovery because I’ve experienced firsthand how addiction can take hold of a life, and I’m passionate about helping others find hope, healing, and a path forward. Supporting people as they rebuild their lives gives my own journey purpose and reminds me every day that lasting change is possible.”

We’re grateful for team members like Garth who turn their journey into impact.🌟

Mental Wellness Month may be over, but caring for your mind is a lifelong practice.

Sometimes healing looks like therapy.
Sometimes it looks like support.
Sometimes it looks like stepping outside and breathing.

Time in nature can reduce stress, improve mood, and help you reset when things feel heavy.

At SPARC, we believe recovery includes caring for your mental health — every single day.

đź’¬ What helps you reset when life feels overwhelming?

Recovery isn’t just about the hard work — it’s also about rediscovering joy. 🎤

Our PHP karaoke contest was full of laughter, courage, and serious talent. One therapist shared, “It was truly amazing watching them all laugh and sing. One of the guys sang Hallelujah and it literally would bring tears to your eyes with his voice.”

Moments like these matter. Learning new ways to have fun, discovering hidden gifts, and stepping out with confidence are powerful parts of healing. Even more powerful? The brotherhood in the room — cheering each other on, celebrating every voice, and building connection through shared experience.

Joy, courage, and community… all part of the journey forward. 💙

Three years of resilience. Three years of growth. Three years of purpose. 🌟

On 2/8, Dakota Melton celebrated 3 years in recovery. Dakota is a SPARC graduate who has now been on staff for over 2.5 years, serving as a Peer Support Specialist and stepping into leadership as our second shift supervisor. The same place that once helped him rebuild his life is now the place where he helps others do the same.

“Reaching three years of sobriety has been one of the most transformative journeys of my life. In the beginning, the days felt long and uncertain, and I often wondered who I was without the crutch I had relied on for so long. Over time, though, I began to rediscover parts of myself that had been buried beneath addiction. Each milestone felt impossible until it was behind me, and that realization slowly built my confidence. I learned how to sit with difficult emotions instead of running from them, which was both uncomfortable and empowering. Relationships that were once strained have grown stronger because I can now show up fully and honestly. I have gained clarity in my thinking and a steadiness in my decisions that I never had before. There are still hard days, but they no longer control me or define my choices. Sobriety has given me the gift of remembering my experiences instead of regretting them. I have developed healthier routines and found new passions that bring genuine joy. Celebrating three years is not just about the time that has passed, but about the resilience and growth that time represents. Most of all, it has shown me that change is possible and that I am capable of building a life I am proud to live.”

Seeing lives like Dakota’s truly transformed is why we do what we do. We are grateful to witness lives turn around every single day.

Help us celebrate Dakota and his 3 years in recovery! 🌟

Three years ago, Roger Burchett’s life looked very different. He was stuck in addiction and sitting in jail when he was given the opportunity to come to SPARC — and that opportunity changed everything.

Yesterday, Roger celebrated 3 years in recovery (2/10) 🌟

In his words:

“Three years ago my life was a mess. I was stuck in addiction and in jail when I got the opportunity to come to SPARC, and it absolutely changed my life. Today I’m celebrating the peace and clarity that sobriety has brought me. If you’re struggling, just keep going. Everything gets better. Life gets better.”

Roger is now a proud SPARC graduate and a valued member of our transportation team, using his story to serve others every single day.

We are so proud of you, Roger. Thank you for showing what’s possible. 🌟
