There is nothing sweeter than watching a child overcome incredible challenges and come out thriving on the other side. Today we are sending the biggest shout-out to Miss Penny and her amazing family!

Her therapists and family have worked so hard to get her here, and with permission from her mother, we are honored to share her words:

"My sweet Penny, I am SO proud of you!

Some of you know, but Penny did not have an easy start to life. She was born with two severe oral ties that made feeding a constant struggle, and she later developed severe silent acid reflux.

For nearly the first four months of her life, she cried almost all day, every day. Thinking about how much pain she was in still breaks my heart!

After having her oral ties released, completing a swallow study, and trying multiple reflux medications with little relief, I felt completely helpless. This wasn't the start I imagined for her or for our family. After a conversation with a sweet SLP friend, feeding therapy was suggested and started quickly.

Penny started feeding therapy at just 3 months old, and today she is officially being discharged! My girl worked SO hard and is absolutely thriving. She's currently in the 90th percentile for weight, and the relief and joy I feel knowing she's no longer struggling is indescribable. I'm so incredibly proud of her and grateful for the village that helped us get here.

Thank you, shout-outs to Thrive Pediatric Therapy for getting us in quickly and making the therapy process so easy. Huge thank you to Penny's amazing Speech Therapist, who helped her get here! We're so grateful!"

Penny, we are SO proud of you. 💕 Watching you grow stronger, healthier, and happier has been such a joy.

And to Mom — thank you for trusting us during such a tender season. Early feeding challenges can feel overwhelming and isolating, but you are never alone.

At Thrive, we believe in early intervention, compassionate care, and celebrating every milestone — big and small.

Progress doesn’t have to be loud to be meaningful. Small steps still count.

🤗 Happy National Hugging Day! 🤗

Did you know hugs are more than just sweet moments? They’re powerful for growing minds and bodies—especially for little ones!

💛 Biological benefits of hugs:
• Release oxytocin (the “feel-good” hormone)
• Help lower stress hormones like cortisol
• Support heart health and immune function
• Calm the nervous system

🧠 Mental & emotional benefits:
• Help children feel safe, secure, and connected
• Support emotional regulation and confidence
• Reduce anxiety and overwhelm
• Strengthen the parent-child bond

For toddlers and young children, hugs are a form of communication—they say “You’re safe. You’re loved. I’m here.”

So today (and every day), don’t hold back those hugs.
They’re doing more good than you might think 💕

✨ Bonus tip: Even a 20-second hug can make a difference!

Every child deserves support that honors who they are.💛

Between ages 2 and 3, children experience a significant leap in communication. You may notice new words popping up daily, short phrases forming, and lots of “why” questions.

If your child is struggling to express needs, combine words, or be understood, early support can make a huge difference. Therapy at this age looks like play, connection, and fun—not drills.

✨ Early communication support helps build confidence, reduce frustration, and strengthen bonding. If you would like to learn more, feel free to get in touch!

Some days, your child is overwhelmed… and so are you.
That doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong—it means you’re human.

In those moments, pause together.
Sit on the floor. Hold hands. Take a slow breath side by side.

You don’t have to fix everything right away.
Calm grows from connection, and connection begins when your child knows you’re right there with them.

💛 You’re doing the best you can—and that matters more than you know.
