It was a beautiful day—and I mean more than just the weather. My kids were out playing on their bikes when we decided to take an ice cream break. Filled with joy, I reminded them how much I love them as we sat together and ate our customized cones. My thoughts were beautiful. My surroundings were beautiful. My words were beautiful. My thoughts were beautiful. The sounds around us were beautiful. In that moment I really could feel the beauty of life.

Some of us get addicted to chain-smoking our problems. We may spend all day going from sorrow to sorrow. It doesn't have to be that way. You can live each day going from joy to joy—like a sunflower that turns to face the sun as it moves across the sky. It's not about having a problem-free life, but about focusing on the light. Sunflowers still have shadows, but they are always behind them.
