Jessie Delaney “J.D.” Robinson

On October 20, 2025, at the age of 89, Jessie Delaney “J.D.” Robinson received complete healing and perfect hearing for the first time in a really long time, allowing him to hear the voice of his Savior Jesus say - “Well done my good and faithful servant!” J.D. was a steadfast Christian, devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Those closest to him knew him best as Pops.

J.D. was born on January 28, 1936, to Cecil & Lurlie Mae Robinson. He was a member of Russellville High School’s graduating class of 1955. During his high school career, he played both offense & defense for the Golden Tigers football program. Being an outstanding offensive lineman earned him a scholarship to play for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He married his beloved wife, Beth Hester, in 1955 before starting college. After a semester away, J.D. decided he couldn’t bear being apart from his beautiful bride, so he returned to Russellville and his darling Beth.

J.D. worked for 40 years at Reynold’s Aluminum. But his proudest accomplishment was the legacy of faith that he and Beth left, which is evident in their son Eddy and the generations that have followed. In retirement he enjoyed deer hunting, watching Alabama football & westerns. Most importantly, J.D. was a faithful prayer warrior. If he said he would pray for you, you could rest assured that you were being lifted up to the Lord.

He is survived by his son Eddy (Sharon) Robinson. Two grandsons, who were his pride & joy, Jacob (Erin) Robinson and Luke (Amanda) Robinson. Through them he was blessed with 6 great-grandchildren Kolt (Christlin) and Logan (Addison) Lindsey, Laylah, Graceann, Ari, and River Robinson, a great-great-granddaughter Shelby on the way, and several nieces and nephews.
