· The story of Methodist Foster Care begins in 2015 when Louisiana United Methodist Children & Families Services saw Louisiana was about to experience a huge loss of therapeutic foster care homes following a national provider’s decision to leave our state. We responded by creating Methodist Foster Care and we have grown to provides therapeutic foster care services throughout Louisiana. We have offices in Monroe, Alexandria, Lafayette, Covington, Houma, and Shreveport. Our mission is we guide children and families home to experience God’s love by following the teaching of Christ. We are able to fulfill our mission by providing a holistic approach to healing children from hard places.
· Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) is a family-based service which allows a child to live in a temporary home with trained TFC Parents, while receiving intensive treatment from community-based providers and mental health specialist for their emotional and behavioral needs. TFC offers children supportive family settings where they can live until the natural family can be reunified or a permanent placement can be arranged for the child.
