Anna is unmatched!! I am beyond thankful for her wisdom, support, and presence during my pregnancy and welcoming my first baby to the world!

I booked with Anna very early in to my pregnancy and I’m so glad I did! I am person with many questions and love to explore all my options. With this being my first pregnancy you can bet I had plenty of questions for her. She was always there when I needed her to explain what the doctors were saying more in depth or to work through the best next steps. She encouraged me to advocate for myself when I was advised to induce early but I didn’t feel it was necessary and I was able to have the natural birth I desired.

Anna was my biggest life saver in labor and delivery with applying counter pressure during the worst contractions and pain I’ve ever experienced. There’s no way I could have went as long as I did without her educating me ahead of time and coaching me in the moment.

She was also a huge blessing to my husband knowing what to do when he didn’t and helping him help me. 10/10 would recommend her to anyone expecting!”

Her Village is hosting an open house event that is inviting future expecting, already expecting, and/or postpartum families to meet 6 local birth, postpartum, and/or grief & loss doulas of Rutherford county!

Each doula is DONA or CAPPA trained but more so takes pride in their hands on experiences & passion for helping expecting and postpartum families get the support they need and deserve!

Each doula not only shares their roles as a doula but also has additional services such as childbirth education classes, placenta encapsulation, prenatal yoga, postpartum services including meal prepping, lactation support, & more!

Join us at 6:00pm for cookies & conversations before we share a short, organized, fun, & informative presentation lead by Morgan Murray one of the local birth doulas! Presentation starts at 6:30pm!

This is a great opportunity to meet with all of the doulas, understand more of their heart behind why they do what they do and to see more of their personalities! This is great for anyone trying to conceive, already pregnant, or newly postpartum! Or for anyone who may be interested in becoming a doula!

It’s a quiet hurt after a while; a mention every now and then - just a quick nod when someone says “I’m sorry.”

It’s a closed door that she doesn’t dare to open in front of anyone - except for once a year, on the day that her baby died.

The door eases open and she steps inside, gives herself permission to think of him; to cry all those tears that she tries to stifle on other days. Her arms are empty with a heaviness that can’t be understood. All the questions come back - Was it her fault? Why did this happen? HOW could this happen? And the screaming silence deafens her.

She closes her eyes against the emotions that tighten in her chest and leans into the promise of heaven. No more tears; no more wondering.

This is the part where loved ones are wondering to help or what to say. They want to help but are afraid to reach out and disturb her grieving. What magic recipe can ease the ache? What perfect sentence can bring healing and to her world of hurt?

There isn’t one. There never will be. But trust me - what matters most to her is that her baby is not forgotten … and that she isn’t remembering him alone. A card, a text, a hug… just the strength of knowing that someone else cares for him like she does is the comfort that she needs on these days.

A smile eases to her face as she embraces every kindness with everything in her being.

If you have a friend who has lost her baby … just remember with her. It’s enough. 🤍

So sorry guys! October totally got away from us! 😝 birthed her baby girl alittle early (they are doing well!), while (who's very pregnant herself) & I () have been supporting October doula babies being born! So no October mommy meet up!

However, we do have an early November meet up planned! This may be the last park hang until spring so we are gonna soak it up as much as possible! (We will shoot for indoor options this winter).

I chatted alot today on stories about the new Her Village office and what it's gonna be used for! So head to stories to hear all about that & to see more of the space!

I also wanted to make this post to explain in more detail about who we are here (Her Village)!

Rebekah, Anna, & myself are all still actively helping with Her Village things and events! You have mainly seen mine or Rebekah's faces around the office because she and I have a need for a physical location to support the other parts of our business!

We are all still active doulas supporting families in Rutherford county and surrounding areas!

Anna is primarily focusing solely on doula support while Rebekah and I are also adding extra resources to our doula business!
