We are excited to announce that the Ruthven Community Care Center will be holding our Annual Easter Egg Hunt on MARCH 28th at 10:00 AM! 🐰🥚

We are currently seeking prize sponsors to help make it extra special. We are asking for sponsorship of two age-appropriate “Golden Egg” prizes in each age group.

If you or your business would be interested in sponsoring a prize for this event, please contact Christa Hart at the RCCC at (712) 837-5411.

This morning we had another group of special visitors! The 1st, 4th, and 5th graders stopped by to read books and share smiles with our residents. Our residents loved listening to the stories and spending time with the kids. The smiles were definitely contagious! 📚😊

This morning we were so lucky to have the Ruthven Ayrshire kindergarteners and 2nd graders come for a special visit! 💛📚

They spent the morning reading to our residents, sharing their stories and the sweetest smiles. Our residents enjoyed every second of it — you could truly feel the warmth and joy in the room! There is something so special about the connection between generations, and today was a perfect reminder of that.

Today at Ruthven Community Care Center we held our annual Chili Cook-Off! 🌶️🔥

Residents and staff had a great time taste-testing a variety of delicious homemade chilis and voting for their favorites. After some close competition, our 2026 Chili Chef Champion, Andrea Bowman, took home the win with Crockpot #5! 🏆👏 Crockpot #2 came in a very close second!

We also took time to celebrate our February birthdays with cake and ice cream.🎂🍦

It truly was a wonderful day! Thank you to our amazing staff for always working so hard to make our events run smoothly — we appreciate you! ❤️

We also celebrated a few special birthdays this week! Our AL Supervisor celebrated her birthday earlier this week, Tessa Watkins is celebrating her birthday today, and our ADON, Andrea Bowman, has a birthday coming up on Friday! 🎉🎂

Today we celebrated Valentine’s Day with our amazing residents! 💖

We had a blast with Valentine’s Bowling and Valentine’s Putt-Putt, plus a sweet party full of cookies, floats, and plenty of great conversation.

On today’s agenda, we celebrated National Wine Day with a relaxing glass of wine while we pampered our ladies — and even a couple of our staff joined in the fun! 🍷💅

To close out the day, our residents attended two church services in observance of Ash Wednesday. ✝️

And congratulations to our Jar of Hearts winner, Sarah Rabel! ❤️ There were 390 hearts in the jar, and her winning guess was 395 — great job!
