Meet Community Care Network – Rutland Mental Health’s Emergency Services Team. In 2025 alone, the team served more than 1,200 individuals in our community, providing more than 1,800 hours of crisis response to those in need of immediate assistance. In addition to 24/7 crisis response, assessment and intervention services, the team also assists individuals with supportive counseling and identifying and accessing a range of other appropriate mental health services and community resources.

In the hardest moments, the team is always here, ready to provide stability, safety, care and hope when it’s needed most.

ABC Parenting now offered by CCN-Rutland Mental Health Services’ Early Childhood Team!

CCN-RMHS Early Childhood staff members, (left to right) Cherin Swinington, Emily Shea and Lauren Norford, recently completed a rigorous six-month clinical training in Attachment and Biobehavioral Catchup, an evidenced-based, intensive family coaching model that helps at-risk families with children age 3 months to 24 months better understand and practice skills like nurturing, following the lead, reducing frightening behavior and other factors that can impact parenting in the ‘now’. The training was made possible by a Preschool Development Grant administered by Vermont Care Partners.

Program Spotlight: Circle of Security Parenting offered by CCN-Rutland Mental Health Services

Circle of Security Parenting is an evidence-based model used in parent education and intervention programs to help caregivers better understand and meet children's attachment needs. It depicts the interplay between a child's need for exploration (going out) and their need for comfort and safety (coming in), with the caregiver acting as both a secure base and a safe haven.
