The Town of Rutledge Alabama was so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Sue Sanders Bagents, 93, a resident of Rutledge, Alabama, who passed away peacefully at Crenshaw Community Hospital, while surrounded by her family. Funeral services for Sue will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, February 3rd, at Luverne Church of Christ with Brother Bill Bagents officiating. She will then be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Rutledge Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service.

These Pictures are from 10 years ago and these men are still at it! Every Thursday morning at 6:30-7:30am. they meet to have Breakfast and study the Word. The men might change but God never does! Come and join them and get a blessing. We have some very special men at South Luverne Baptist Church that will get up this early and have Breakfast and Study the Bible 🙂 Truly a blessed group of men

Rutledge, Al. had our Christmas tree lighting tonight Dec. 8, 2025. Rita Brown fixed some yummy hot Chocolate and cookies to keep us warm. It makes me feel like I am in a Hallmark Christmas movie! God is so good to us! It is such a blessing to be a part of this sweet little town and these wonderful Godly people. To God be the Glory!!

The Town of Rutledge was saddened to hear of the passing of Ronald Edward Richards, 67, a resident of Rutledge, Alabama, who passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, November 26th, 2025. A celebration of his life has not been announced at this time.
