Rutledge, Al. had our Christmas tree lighting tonight Dec. 8, 2025. Rita Brown fixed some yummy hot Chocolate and cookies to keep us warm. It makes me feel like I am in a Hallmark Christmas movie! God is so good to us! It is such a blessing to be a part of this sweet little town and these wonderful Godly people. To God be the Glory!!

The Town of Rutledge was saddened to hear of the passing of Ronald Edward Richards, 67, a resident of Rutledge, Alabama, who passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, November 26th, 2025. A celebration of his life has not been announced at this time.

The Town of Rutledge was so sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Joseph Howard Gipson, 69, a lifelong resident of Rutledge, Alabama, who passed away unexpectedly at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery on Wednesday, July 30th, 2025. Funeral services for Howard will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 2nd, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Malcolm Butts officiating. Interment will follow in Rutledge Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday for one hour prior to the service.
