Thanks to our South Portland Peer Recovery Coach, Stephanie Szabo, the United Way of Southern Maine , Portland's Health and Human Services Dept and all those involved for the good work being done in support of Maine's homeless.

Teams went out Thursday for the Point-in-Time count, an annual survey of homeless people across the country.

Black Balloon Day 6th annual event March 7th 2026.

Black Balloon Day is a heavy-hearted time to remember and honor those who have tragically lost their lives to overdose. This day serves as a reminder of the importance of providing compassionate and comprehensive care for individuals struggling with substance use disorder and those facing challenges related to substance use. This event unites loved ones, communities, and recovery resources throughout the state of Maine, fostering support and collaboration to prioritize healing and understanding.

We are truly grateful for the support of our sponsors and recovery resources. A heartfelt thank you goes to New Life Church for generously offering their entire facility for this event. We also deeply appreciate the talented artists who will be performing, helping to create a memorable and uplifting experience for everyone. Your contributions mean so much to us all.

During the federal shutdown our S**o, ME team launched a staff food drive to help with food insecurity for families in the their area. They wanted to ensure that no one in the community goes hungry. Thank you to our caring local staff for stepping up in a big way!

Everest Recovery's Manchester, ME location is proud to partner with Maine Family Planning's Health on Wheels project. Once/month they'll set up shop at Everest to provide services that include: wound care, HIV prevention, birth control options, reproductive & sexual health services & more.
