University of the Pacific - Physician Assistant Program

University of the Pacific - Physician Assistant Program University of the Pacific - Physician Assistant Program The program is launched in January 2017 at Pacific’s campus in Sacramento.

University of the Pacific's Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) full-time, 27-month, degree program is designed for professionals currently working in other areas of health care, individuals interested in a second career opportunity, and pre-health students interested in entering the fast-growing physician assistant (PA) field. Pacific’s PA program provides numerous opportunities for interprofessional education through involvement with Pacific’s highly regarded health-related schools, the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy, and the School of Health Sciences through student clinical training experiences at community hospitals and clinics. The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the University of the Pacific Physician Assistant Program sponsored by the University of the Pacific. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards. Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be March 2031. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy. The program’s accreditation history can be viewed on the ARC-PA website at http://www.arc-pa.org/accreditation-history-university-of-the-pacific/.

Please join me in welcoming Megan as part of our PA family!🥰

Hi, my name is Megan. I am an alumna of the program from the Class of 2020 and joined the program as faculty in January. I previously worked in Emergency Medicine and more recently orthopedic trauma surgery. UOP had such a positive impact on my experience as both a student and a provider that I was excited to return and bring my clinical experience and alumni perspective into the classroom and faculty role. In my free time, I enjoy endurance sports, spending time on the water, and hanging out with my dog and cat.

Hi everyone, Please join me in welcoming our new faculty member! We are so happy to have you as part of our PA family.🐯🧡...

Hi everyone,

Please join me in welcoming our new faculty member! We are so happy to have you as part of our PA family.🐯🧡

My name is Joanna, and I am so excited to be a new faculty member at University of the Pacific. I graduated from the University at Buffalo with a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Sciences and from the University of Pittsburgh with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies. I started my PA career in internal medicine in Pittsburgh, and then moved to Oklahoma to work in a busy rural urgent care. I have always had a passion for teaching and mentorship, and I am so excited to be joining UOP!

When not working, I love travelling, being in nature and spending time with family and friends! I love discovering new hobbies and learning new things. I recently started my own clothing boutique and have been learning so much as a new business owner! As a native New Yorker, I love NY style pizza and bagels!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! ❤️🎅🏼

Hello everyone!

I wanted to share some fun news about one of our students: Kit Wilson from the Class of 2027, has been selected as a member of AAPA’s Student House of Delegates!

As an active student leadership member, she has been a great asset to our student community and will no doubt do great things with AAPA.

Congratulations Kit! 🧡
