We are pleased to inform you that the 2025 year-end annual issue of “Self-Realization” magazine is now available on our online bookstore!

This year marks 100 years since Paramahansa Yogananda inaugurated “Self-Realization” magazine. Initially named “East-West” and later renamed by Yogananda as “Self-Realization,” it was one of the first periodicals with widespread circulation in the West to present the profound philosophy and teachings of Yoga.

The 2025 annual year-end issue features a previously unpublished talk by Paramahansa Yogananda, inspiration from current and past Self-Realization Fellowship presidents, senior SRF monastics, and others. New and longtime readers will enjoy this special presentation of timeless wisdom that speaks directly to the needs of our modern times! Includes many photographs and stunning designs in a 72-page large format presentation.

You can purchase this issue, or a 3-year subscription to the magazine that comes with access to an online library of past content on our website: srfyoga.org/SRM2025

Our 2026 wall calendar celebrates the recent 75th anniversary of the Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades, California, established by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1950. Since its opening to the public, the SRF Lake Shrine has been a spiritual sanctuary where people from all over the world can come and experience true peace in heart, mind, and soul.

This calendar includes beautiful scenes of the Lake Shrine Meditation Gardens — with its special locations such as the Windmill Chapel and Mahatma Gandhi World Peace Memorial — the unique hilltop Temple, and several photos of Yogananda on these sacred grounds. Each month’s image is accompanied by an inspirational quote from Yogananda to uplift your spirits.

On this day in 1935, during his yearlong visit to India, Paramahansa Yogananda met with the renowned Bengali saint Ananda Moyi Ma (“Joy-Permeated Mother”). In his “Autobiography of a Yogi,” Yogananda describes their interactions of truly divine friendship, and says: “Her gentle face was burnished with the ineffable joy that had given her the name of Blissful Mother.”

“St. John said, ‘As many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God.’ (John 1:12) Then why not make yourself ready to receive him now? It is easier at this season than at any other time, for the spirit of goodwill, love and peace radiates throughout the world.”

- Paramahansa Yogananda

The SRF Lake Shrine temple remains closed to the public due to fire recovery work. The meditation gardens are open from Wednesday to Sunday for those with a reservation. Please visit lakeshrine.org for updates and to reserve your spot. Thank you for all the prayers and messages of goodwill and support!

In December 1945, Merna Brown (later known by her monastic name, Sri Mrinalini Mata) met Paramahansa Yogananda after attending one of his satsangas at the Self-Realization Fellowship San Diego Temple (USA).

Upon seeing Yoganandaji for the first time, she later recounted, she was filled with “a tremendous feeling of peace” and a sense of “something anciently familiar.”

Sri Mrinalini Mata will be forever remembered as one of Yoganandaji’s foremost disciples. She was among the select group personally trained by him to carry on the work of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India/Self-Realization Fellowship after his passing; and she became the sanghamata and fourth president of YSS/SRF in 2011, serving in that role until her passing in 2017.
