Our last dance of 2025 was so sweet! 💞

We celebrated one of our dances original co-founders as he steps back from dance and into a new chapter of his life. We also welcomed in the new year, celebrating all 2025 has been, and all there is to come in the next chapter of dance.

Our dance is only possible due to YOU. Your presence means so so much to us. Thank you for being there. Happy holidays! So excited to dance with you on January 30th with Marcel.

We’ve heard you asking for our 2026 dance dates, and they’re finally here! 🎉

Our first two dates are January 30 and February 27. We’ll be sharing the rest of the dates for the first half of the year soon, but for now we wanted to make sure you can get these on your calendar.

Once you’ve marked your calendar, please help us spread the word so your friends can save the dates too. Shares, reposts, tags, and story posts are so helpful!

We’re in for a special treat!

After our next dance, Isaac and his partner Ayla will guide us in a closing through song, sharing some of their beautiful, unreleased acoustic pieces.

Both Isaac and Ayla are gifted musicians and deeply attuned space holders. They closed our final dance of 2024 with such presence and soul, and having them do so again feels truly meaningful. As Isaac transitions from his leadership role into a new chapter of life, sharing this moment together feels especially precious.

Stay with us to the end of the dance to receive this closing, it’s one you won’t want to miss!✨

Excited to share Mishi will be leading our opening activity on Friday!

Mishi is a dancer, movement artist, and facilitator for guiding people out of their heads and into their hearts and bodies. Her work is rooted in her own discovery of movement as a powerful tool for self-exploration and growth. She is passionate about holistic living, women’s work, and time in nature. Through her offerings, she weaves earth-based wisdom with mind–body practices to support deeper connection to the body and spirit.

This dance, she will lead us through a somatic movement practice to help us drop in our bodies before dance. Doors open at 7:20 pm, and the workshop starts at 7:30 pm!

The dance lounge will be hosted by Amanda Sue for our December dance!

She is a mother, artist, photographer, poet, and the unseen magic behind the scenes at Capitol Floats. She moves like a whisper through the room, offering warm hands and an open heart. Serving tea to her community becomes her small ceremony. A moment of grounding and connection, an offering of breath and softening, an invitation to return to your own rhythm.

We are Ecstatic Dance Midtown-Sacramento!

Ecstatic Dance Midtown-Sacramento is a DJ led community dance gathering. It is an alcohol free, family friendly event. Leave shoes and conversations at the door. We believe that movement is medicine and this is why we create non-verbal spaces. Silence allows the attention to drop out of the mind and into the depth of the body where alchemy resides.

ECSTATIC DANCE MIDTOWN-SACRAMENTO GUIDELINES: VERBAL & NON-VERBAL SPACES:

We’ve created one VERBAL and one NON-VERBAL space for you to engage with your ecstatic dance experience.

VERBAL SPACE: The social lounge area is the space you first walk into that has been created for you to enjoy and experience verbal conversations and connections.

NON-VERBAL SPACE: This is the main dance floor area located in the Auditorium. If a SHORT conversation needs to happen in the NON-VERBAL space, lean into your partner’s ear and whisper to them. If the short conversation turns into a longer one, please take your conversation into the social lounge.

BODY AWARENESS: We encourage interaction and connection on the dance floor. When you want to dance with another, please be sensitive, mindful and slow. Listen for their body’s “YES.” Some suggestions are: mirroring their dance moves, offering a hand, making eye contact and smiling. If they turn away from you, or give you prayer hands in front of their heart in Namaste, this is their “NO.” Don’t take it personally, just redirect yourself and keep dancing. If someone isn’t listening to your NO, or they are making you feel uncomfortable or they are being inappropriate, please tell someone immediately.

BLIND-FOLDED DANCING: This can be a deepening movement experience. However, please be aware of your surroundings, move with care and stay in your space.

PERSONAL HYGIENE: No heavy perfume or oils. Please practice good body hygiene when you come to dance. Seriously, no one likes to dance with stinky people. Bare feet and dance shoes only on the dance floor please.

LITTLE ONES: One attentive adult to one child at all times. Please be aware of little ones around you if they are unattended and help them to get reunited with their adults.

Most importantly, HAVE FUN! This is a comfortable place for you to drop out of your head, into your body, and let loose.
