The Food Drug and Administration (FDA) warns of the dangers associated with metal on metal hip implants. Patients are likely to experience similar problems linked to the DePuy Pinnacle. Recently, the FDA published the following information about metal on metal hip implants. According to the FDA’s website:

“Metal on metal hip implants, like other types of hip implants, are known to have adverse events including infection and joint dislocation. There are some case reports of the metal particles causing a reaction around the joint, leading to deterioration of the tissue around the joint, loosening of the implant and failure of the device, as well as some of the symptoms described above. In addition, some metal ions from the implant may enter into the bloodstream. There have been a few recent case reports of patients with metal-on-metal hip implants developing a reaction to these ions and experiencing medical problems that might have been related to their implants, including effects on the nervous system, heart and thyroid gland.”

OUR 2019 TRIAL UPDATE IS NOW POSTED!

To our viewers:

We understand it has been a while since our last update. Unfortunately, there has been very little activity in the litigation since our last update. We are still waiting for a decision from the 5th Circuit on the appeal from the verdict in the California plaintiff case and the re-trial of the Texas plaintiffs case is set to begin on January 14. We know people are starving for information but there is just not too much to report. As the re-trial begins, we will be providing updates on a more regular basis.

DePuy Pinnacle 2018 Trial Update 6: Oral arguments were heard in the third bellwether trial that was appealed to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. We are still waiting for a decision.
