‘Tis the season.... well almost!🎄

🎃🍎 Pumpkin Spice or Apple Cider?!

🙊 I honestly don’t love either buttttt Pumpkin Spice is definitely my first choice.

🧡 What I do love is making a spiced latte that’s not only delicious, it’s also calming for digestion as well as effective for balancing hunger throughout the holiday season.

Almond Milk (unsweetened - is my absolute favorite!)
Cinnamon - blood sugar balancing.
Turmeric - reduces inflammation.
Pumpkin Spice - just because!
Fennel - soothes the stomach.
Ginger - supports digestion.

Options:
Quality protein powder.
MCT powder.
Liquid Stevia.

💫Use equal parts of spices, or of course adjust to your taste. Heat and blend to desired temperature and consistency.

“Keto is high fat.” Well yes, it is. Kinda. Let’s clarify a few things. Higher consumption of fat in the beginning can be helpful when you’re getting off the wrong carbs and dealing with carb and sugar cravings, as well as when you’re trying to get Fat Adapted. One mistake I see is the incorrect addition of MCT fats to eat “high fat” as well as “to speed up metabolism.” ��First, MCT (Medium Chain Triglyceride) is great, though it still counts. Second, MCT itself doesn’t speed up metabolism. Correct exercise, building muscle and balancing hormones do that. ��MCT oil is a fat that is quickly converted into ketones/ energy. And therefore, is one reason why it’s used on Keto. It definitely can be helpful. Even when not “Keto.”

And speaking of The Keto Diet, keep in mind that you can be in Ketosis and not lose weight, and, you can lose weight without being in Ketosis. You know what else? You can also be in Ketosis and actually gain weight.

So yes, Ketosis is a metabolic “fat burning” state. But that depends on the other things you’re doing as well.

In summary:
Ketosis = is simply an elevated level of blood ketones.
Ketosis 🙅🏼‍♀️= automatic weight loss/ fat loss.
Ketones = are an alternative fuel source for the body + brain.
