This year marks a monumental milestone for CCCC’s community partner, St. Andrews AME Church of Sacramento. Turnings 175 years old! Founded in 1850 during the Gold Rush era, it is the oldest historically Black church Oldest African American Congregation on the Pacific Coast.

For nearly two centuries, St. Andrews has been a beacon of hope, spiritual growth, and community service, welcoming all regardless of faith and reaching out to those who are unhoused, underserved in healthcare, or seeking safety.

Here’s to honoring this incredible legacy and looking forward to many more years in our community! 🙌Tammie Denyse

🚨 California Alert: Coverage for Obesity Medications at Risk

Just two years after Medi-Cal began covering FDA-approved GLP-1 medications for obesity, that coverage is set to end in January 2026 — a major step backward for health equity and access to care. Ending this coverage will put the health of thousands of Californians at risk. But the fight isn’t over.

Take Action: Urge Governor Newsom and California lawmakers to protect Medi-Cal coverage for GLP-1s and ensure obesity is treated like every other chronic disease. We’ve made it easy with a message template you can personalize: http://bit.ly/3L8jC5s
