💚 Patient Appreciation Post 💚

There’s not a person in this clinic that doesn’t cherish knowing our beloved patient, Gene Thompson.

Gene built a life centered on resilience, connection, and adventure. He maintained a strong, lifelong friendship with his ex-wife, allowing us to raise their two daughters in loving, supportive homes. His passion for sailing led to unforgettable experiences, including owning and exploring the world aboard the Grandesa trimaran.

Gene invested in personal growth through therapy and faced cancer with positivity, turning a difficult journey into an opportunity to connect with incredible people. Along the way, he found deep love with Barb, who became his life partner.

Drawing on his time in the Air Force, Gene created a successful career that ultimately led to owning his own company. Through it all, he built and cherished meaningful, lifelong friendships that continue to enrich his life.

⚠️🌾 Symptoms of Glyphosate Exposure: What to Know

🌬️ Short-term exposure can cause skin or eye irritation and breathing discomfort, especially for people who apply herbicides or touch recently treated surfaces.

🧬 Long-term exposure has been linked in research to issues such as endocrine disruption, insulin resistance/type 2 diabetes, reproductive concerns, microbiome imbalance, and mitochondrial dysfunction. Some studies also report associations with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and neurobehavioral concerns, though results are not all the same.

🤢 Symptoms often reported: abdominal cramps, nausea or vomiting, headache, dizziness, weakness, mouth/throat irritation, breathing difficulty, and low blood pressure. Severity varies by dose and individual factors.

🤔 Why the mixed messages? Major health organizations do not fully agree: IARC labels glyphosate “probably carcinogenic,” while the EPA and EFSA consider it safe when used as directed. That’s why continued research and careful use matter.

Krysta Cook is a Licensed Vocational Nurse with five years of experience in holistic and integrative medicine and over three years of specialized IV therapy administration. With a calm presence and a detail-oriented clinical approach, Krysta assists our Naturopathic Doctors through individualized IV treatments, aiming to create a comfortable and therapeutic healing environment.

She is HeartMath® clinically certified, bringing evidence-based stress-regulation and emotional-resilience techniques into her work. Krysta also holds a fitness instruction certification, allowing her to guide clients with a whole-person, mind-body perspective on wellness.

Beyond her clinical practice, Krysta has spent more than 20 years as a performance artist and costume designer, including touring with multiple circus productions—an experience that continues to inspire her creativity and connection with others. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys paddle boarding, hiking, and finding new ways to blend art, movement, and mindful living.”
