Since 1867, the Sacramento Children's Home has been dedicated to caring for our community's most vulnerable children and families.

With multiple community programs across six locations, the Sacramento Children's Home makes a difference in the lives of approximately 7,000 children and 4,600 families each year. OUR PROGRAMS

Our COUNSELING CENTER offers innovative counseling techniques to help children heal from trauma and improve the parent-child relationship. Our two CRISIS NURSERIES provide free child care, overnight care, and case management services for families with children age 0-5 during a crisis. Our EDUCATION PROGRAM offers a variety of after-school and enrichment activities to make learning fun and help SCH residents get the most from their education. Our eVIBE (Early Violence Intervention Begins with Education) program helps students and their families avoid violence and develop safe relationships at school and at home. Our three FAMILY RESOURCE CENTERS build strong families through parent education, crisis intervention, connection to resources, and social support. Our RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT PROGRAM provides intensive mental health care in a group home setting for abused, neglected, or emotionally disturbed males age 6-21. Our WRAPAROUND PROGRAM provides individualized support to families to ensure that youth in residential care return to a safe, stable community home.

Last weekend, our North Sacramento Family Resource Center Spring Eggventure was filled with smiles, laughter, and community spirit! 🌸🐣

With 60+ families and 117 kids in attendance, the day was full of fun games and activities. A huge thank you to our incredible staff and volunteers who made this event so special!

It was wonderful to see families come together, connect, and create joyful memories. 💛

Families in our community are facing increasing challenges—and more parents are reaching out in moments of crisis, simply needing a safe place for their young children.

In 2025, our Crisis Nursery provided 5,042 safe stays to babies and toddlers—a 19% increase from the year before. Each number represents a child kept safe and a family supported when they needed it most.

As the need continues to grow, monthly support helps ensure we can always be there.

Our amazing volunteers recently came together at the North Sacramento Family Resource Center to help get ready for this year’s Spring Eggventure! Thanks to their energy and generosity, they filled 1,200 Easter eggs and created festive decorations to make the celebration extra special. 💛

Spring Eggventure, happening today, promises a day full of joy for local families—with an Easter egg hunt, hands-on crafts, games, raffle prizes, cotton candy, and even free dental exams! 🥳

The South Sacramento Family Resource Center - Meadowview recently welcomed Color the Block for an exciting kickoff of our new community garden! 🌱

We stopped by as their team was building raised garden beds to help prepare the space for the community. A big thank you to everyone who helped get things started—we can’t wait to welcome families soon to learn, plant, and grow together in this shared community space.

We can’t get over these amazing cakes from last weekend’s Crab Feed! Altogether, these five cakes raised an incredible $57,000 during our always-fun cake auction to support our life-changing programs! We’re absolutely blown away by the tremendous support from everyone who bid on these cakes. ✨

Last Saturday, our Crab Feed was nothing short of incredible! 🦀✨ The room was buzzing with warmth, excitement, and energy from start to finish.

One standout moment was hearing from Shayne, a former Residential Program client. Her story of courage and resilience reminded us exactly why our work matters so much — and inspired everyone in the room. 💙

And the generosity of our attendees and supporters was absolutely amazing. From the first paddle raise to the final bid, our community showed up in a BIG way. The cake auction did NOT disappoint, raising an incredible $57,000!🎂

Thanks to YOU, we raised over $313,000 to support children and families in our community.
