About 48 million Americans currently provide unpaid to care to family member or loved one. Providing care for an aging family member or loved one requires a lot of time and energy and is largely unpaid.

The AARP recently completed a 5-year study on caregiving that explores the costs, both financially and personally, for family caregivers.

This study demonstrates the importance of education, resources and financial aid - specifically the bipartisan Credit for Caring Act which provides $5,000 in tax credits.

Father's Day - a time to highlight the importance of fatherhood and to celebrate the special relationships we have with the fathers in our lives.

“Our father had a significant impact on our whole family. One of the wonderful ways our father influenced our lives was his empathetic nature in always thinking of others. He would put himself in other's shoes and welcome people to our table for a meal, a special event or lend a helping hand to a neighbor, acquaintance or colleague. He would make sure people who may not have family close by were included in get-togethers, holidays, and other social or church events.” - MaryAnn Cimino Shinn and Mark Cimino.
