Important information about Calfresh/EBT:
1. The SNAP program (also known as Calfresh and EBT) is fully funded through the end of October.
2. If the government shutdown continues, the SNAP program will not have money to add to EBT cards starting November 1.
3. If SNAP runs out of money, this is NOT the permanent end of SNAP. When the government reopens, SNAP will have money again.
4. If you have money left over from October on your EBT card, it will still be available in November.
5. If you have Calfresh or Market Match vouchers from any of the 9 farmers' markets we serve, you can still spend them at the markets in November. Your vouchers are still good!
6. If you have been planning to apply for CalFresh benefits with Sacramento County, you can still apply. The sooner you apply, the sooner your benefits can start once the government reopens.
In short: SNAP will return even if it is delayed by the government shutdown, and your CalFresh and Market Match vouchers are still as good as cash at the farmers' markets!
