Did You Know?
Memorial Day began in the 1860s, after the Civil War, when families across the country gathered to decorate the graves of fallen soldiers. It was called Decoration Day—an act of honor and remembrance, rooted in love, not long weekends.
More than 150 years later, that tradition continues. Since 1775, over 1.3 million U.S. service members have given their lives in defense of their country. Behind every name is a story. A family. A future given in service to something greater.
This Memorial Day, we remember not just the history of this tradition—but the humanity behind the holiday.
Remembrance is an act of honor that carries the legacy of our fallen service members forward.
In observation of Memorial Day, our offices are closed Monday, May 26th. Regular business hours resume Tuesday, May 27th.
