TLC Plus caught a bunch of love bugs! 🦋 💗

With theme-based learning, each class has a different assignment based on skill level but all projects fall under one umbrella.

Our love bug projects helped students practice:
💕 Picking up small objects, like googly eyes.
💕 Sharing paint and wielding a paint brush.
💕 Listening to directions and identifying different color hearts.
💕 Independently coloring, cutting out shapes, and gluing pieces together.

All lessons are intentional and filled with love!

Pre-K 4 is all about kindergarten prep and having fun!

This Sight Word Magnet Activity is simple.

1. Shuffle a list of sight word cards and let the student pick one at random.
2. Have them identify the words and the letters of the word.
3. Allow them to search for the letter magnets on a door or whiteboard, with the sight word card in their view to reference at any time.

This activity not only challenges students to identify the word, but to identify the letters even if they are different colors, sizes, or upside down.

The weather outside might be frightful, but the arts & activities are delightful! ☃️

Our curriculum at TLC Plus is all theme-based. Each week our teachers lead lessons based on the topic of the week & day. A few weeks ago it was all centered around winter & snow.

✏️ Benefits of the morning “sign in” for students:

At the beginning of the year, Pre-k 4 students focus on writing the letters of their first name, followed by their last name.

But it doesn’t stop there. The lineup includes middle names, familial phone numbers, and even their friend’s names!

Why? This allows children to practice writing a variety of letters and numbers, sharpen their fine motor skills, and foster a sense of independence.

By the end of the school year, they’re all set for kindergarten! 🧑‍🎓

This two-ingredient mix makes a fragrant and fun sensory play activity for preschoolers!

Conditioner & Baking Soda Snow ⛄️

❄️ Mix together 4 parts hair conditioner to 1 part baking soda in a small container to create a snow-like consistency.
❄️ Then add small toys, like animals, to allow for sensory and imaginary play!

This activity works to hone fine motor skills and encourages interactive play with classmates.

Ms. Alejandra’s Pre-K 4 class will also use this to practice their writing ✍️

One of their favorite lessons! 📞 Who wouldn't want to use with a flip phone again?

Pre-K 4 students have a daily "sign in" process of writing their first, middle, or last name on the classroom whiteboard.

Last week, kids were given their parent's phone number to practice writing and even dialing on an old phone. Then at the end of the lesson, parents receive a real call from their child!

We love to see independence and confidence from our students heading for kindergarten this September!
