A little holiday magic can mean everything ❤️🎄

A few weeks ago, Santa and Mrs. Claus brought smiles, laughter and comfort to Mease Countryside Hospital, thanks to our dedicated Child Life team. From the pediatric unit to the NICU and OB, they shared stuffed animals, small gifts and special moments with Santa — creating joy where it’s needed most.

These visits help normalize the hospital experience and remind our youngest patients and their families that they are not alone, especially during the holidays. This Christmas, we’re deeply grateful for the compassion and care that turns a hospital stay into a moment of magic and hope. 🎅✨

Celebrating Baby’s First Christmas at Mease Countryside Hospital! 🎄✨

Our incredible Labor and Delivery nurses went above and beyond to make this season extra special for new families. They lovingly handcrafted ornaments for our newborns’ very first Christmas — a keepsake to cherish for years to come.

It’s thoughtful touches like these that make holiday moments in our hospital truly magical. ❤️

Mease Countryside Hospital recently came together in remembrance and love during our annual Forever Footprints Candle Lighting. 💜🕯️

Held each year for families who have experienced a miscarriage or fetal loss while in our care, this gentle gathering offers time to pause, reflect and honor the babies who left us far too soon — but are forever held in our hearts.

This year was especially meaningful, as more than 40 family members and loved ones joined us — the largest attendance since we began this tradition in 2019.

Together, we lit candles, shared quiet moments of reflection and created space for remembrance, healing and connection.

To every family who joined us, thank you for trusting us with your stories and allowing us to honor your babies alongside you. You are not alone — your Mease Countryside Hospital family is here for you, always.

A Holiday Gift of Mobility 💙

At Mease Countryside Hospital, four local residents without insurance received a life-changing holiday gift: free knee or hip replacements to help them start 2026 pain-free.

Through BayCare’s Orthopedic Institute, we partnered with the Clearwater Free Clinic, St. Petersburg Free Clinic, and national foundation Operation Walk USA to make this possible.

The surgeries were performed by orthopedic surgeons Drs. Duane Belongie, Christopher Grayson, Christopher James, David Whiddon, and anesthesiology physicians Drs. Jay Epstein, Jacob Ludin, Hope Sprunger — all generously donating their services.

2025 marks BayCare’s third consecutive year participating in this life-changing program.

BayCare physicians provided four free joint replacement surgeries for patients without insurance as part of a national charitable program.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our First Annual Tree Lighting! The campus came alive with twinkling lights, holiday music and a wonderful sense of togetherness.

Team members, families and friends enjoyed festive treats, warm drinks and plenty of holiday cheer as we celebrated the start of a new tradition at our hospital. All the smiles and holiday spirit made the evening truly special. ❤️

Mease Countryside Hospital recently welcomed some very special guests to brighten the day for our BayCare Kids and their families! 🚒🧡

In partnership with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Palm Harbor Fire Rescue, Safety Harbor Fire Department and everyone's favorite pup — Sparky The Fire Dog — our pediatric patients in the NICU, pediatric unit and pediatric emergency department enjoyed unforgettable moments of laughter, encouragement and hugs.

Sparky and his firefighter friends brought joy to every corner of our hospital — sharing injury prevention tips, posing for photos, and handing out fire hats, books and stickers. And it wasn’t just the kids who lit up — our team members loved the visit, too!

Thank you to everyone who made this day possible. Your dedication and partnership remind us that caring for kids goes beyond medicine — it’s about creating moments of hope and happiness that help heal the heart. 💙✨
