The Light

The Light Providing support to people incarcerated, or those locked in a prison of addiction.

11/11/2025

Just got back from the Veterans Day walk at Ft. Grant Prison. We did part of the walk, watched the iron man competition , and just got to visit with the whole population .
Then they had a special BBQ for the veterans only .
I was able to share with them over lunch. I was able to pour hope and possiblity somewhere its so needed.
I was able to bring The Light into a place that is often dark.

They love The Light and I was excited to be able to give them the 2 year anniversary issue and celebrate with them .
They loved Stacey and I showing up just to give them candy and bracelets.
They love Stacey period.

And Stacey was able to share some of her story as well. I am going to make a professional prison speaker out of her yet!

At Ft. Grant, the veterans who choose to, live in a house together. To provide each other support and connection.

Most of them have traumatic brain injury, PTSD, metal plates and are disabled.
It was an honor to spend the day with the “other”
Veterans. ❤️

Almost two years ago I was released from Perryville Prison and graduated the Second Chance Program.
Today I spoke to the Second Chance Graduates at Phoenix West Men’s Prison.
The theme was “Burn the Boats, Build the bridges.”

I shared with them the story of a group of women who met and grew up In prison. How they burned their boats of addiction and trauma and incarceration.
And how their friendship was forged through fire and pain.
These women burned their boats, and walked out of the prison gates different people.
Stronger.
Then they turned around, built a bridge of support and connection, and walked right back acrossed it and into the same prison.
This time on purpose.
With purpose.
To take fitness to the women still inside.

Fitting that our logo is a Phoenix….
Fitting that “The Light” is named from the Viktor Frankl Quote, “What is to give light, must endure burning.”

19 men getting ready to leave prison today,
Already building bridges and showing the capacity for strength by simply showing up.

I was able to leave them with a Special Issue of The Light featuring Convicted Comeback.

And with this, “Its sink or swim, There are no boats.
LETS GO!

AND THEY LOVED IT !

Arizona is reimagining corrections .
We are here to help.

We are Convicted Comeback.

We are The Light .
