Just got back from the Veterans Day walk at Ft. Grant Prison. We did part of the walk, watched the iron man competition , and just got to visit with the whole population .
Then they had a special BBQ for the veterans only .
I was able to share with them over lunch. I was able to pour hope and possiblity somewhere its so needed.
I was able to bring The Light into a place that is often dark.
They love The Light and I was excited to be able to give them the 2 year anniversary issue and celebrate with them .
They loved Stacey and I showing up just to give them candy and bracelets.
They love Stacey period.
And Stacey was able to share some of her story as well. I am going to make a professional prison speaker out of her yet!
At Ft. Grant, the veterans who choose to, live in a house together. To provide each other support and connection.
Most of them have traumatic brain injury, PTSD, metal plates and are disabled.
It was an honor to spend the day with the “other”
Veterans. ❤️
