Plant a tree for you and me it will grow tall, just you wait and see.

To the tree, we'll be as small as a mouse. While the tree is as big as a house....

And all you have to do to see, is plant a tree for you and me.

-Manuel

Thomas R Dixon

Thomas R. Dixon, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and cherished friend, was born on October 2, 1937, in Columbus, Georgia. He peacefully departed this world on March 2, 2026, in Franklin, Arizona, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering commitment to family and faith.

Throughout his vibrant life, Tom embraced every moment with enthusiasm and warmth. He proudly served as a Warehouse Supervisor for Phelps Dodge Mine in Morenci and was also a dedicated rancher. His strong work ethic and honesty were the hallmarks of his character, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. A graduate of Senera High School, he carried the lessons learned into every aspect of his life.

Tom was immensely proud of the family he built with Lavinia Donaldson, whom he met and married in the Mesa Arizona Temple in 1957. Their enduring love spanned an incredible 69 years. Together, they raised their children: Dova, Ralph, Donna, and Parley, imparting priceless values of caring, integrity, and faith to each of them. Tom's devotion as a husband and father was matched only by his love for his 21 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 4.75 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immeasurable joy into his life.

Tom's personality shone as brightly as his smile. Those who knew him would attest that he was kind to the core, always willing to lend a helping hand or simply share a moment of laughter. His mantra, “simply M-A-R-V-E-L-O-U-S!” perfectly encapsulated his optimistic spirit, leaving behind a trail of friends drawn to his engaging demeanor and heartwarming presence.

A lifetime disciple of Jesus Christ, Tom’s faith was integral to who he was. He was actively involved with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he nurtured his relationship with God and inspired those around him to grow in their faith.

As we gather to honor and celebrate Tom's life, we also remember those who have welcomed him beyond. He is reunited with his beloved daughters Angilique and DeAnna, his cherished parents Gladys Blanche Palmer Dixon and Ralph Conner Dixon, and his siblings Frank, Margie, and Russel, along with a young brother taken too soon, who will always be held close in memory.

Tom Dixon's warmth and commitment to family and community will continue to resonate through the lives he touched. He is dearly missed but leaves behind a legacy that will forever inspire love, generosity, and faith in all who had the privilege to know him.

A graveside service to celebrate his incredible life will take place on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Virden Cemetery in Virden, New Mexico, where those who loved him will gather to pay their final respects.

Rest in peace, dear Tom. Your marvelous spirit will forever be cherished in the hearts of those you loved so dearly.

Virginia S. Aranda

Virginia S. Aranda, a beloved mother, grandmother, and dedicated education assistant, peacefully passed away on February 28, 2026, in Safford, Arizona. Born on May 1, 1931, in Solomon, Arizona, Virginia was a nurturing soul known for her loving spirit.

Virginia's life was a reflection of her unwavering faith, her passion for family, and her love of cooking food for her family. A proud graduate of Safford High School in 1948, she built a fulfilling career as an education assistant at Dorothy Stinson Elementary School, where she touched the lives of countless students. Her pride in her work and the joy of supporting the younger generation were evident throughout her years in education.

Alongside her professional achievements, Virginia will be remembered for her vibrant personality and the warmth she shared with those around her. She had a special love for cooking, always creating delicious meals and enjoying the simple pleasure of sharing them with friends and family. Including the enjoyment of watching a movie with her two girlfriends Maria Perez, and Raquel Maza. Sports were also a cherished aspect of her life; she embraced her love for Arizona’s sporting events and held a special place in her heart for baseball. In her younger days, Virginia showcased her athletic prowess as she played volleyball and baseball, instilling a spirit of activity and involvement in all aspects of life.

Family was at the core of Virginia’s universe. She was immensely proud of her three sons—Michael (Charity), Steve (Kelly), and Robert (Ruby)—and her daughter, Lisa (Marcus) Garza. Virginia relished every moment spent with her extended family, which included twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. The memory of her watching her sons and grandsons singing and playing guitar will forever echo in their hearts, a reminder of her love and encouragement.

She is also survived by her sister, Lillian Sainz, and is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Elisa Sainz, brothers Pat and Ronnie Sainz, sister Stella Rios, along with her grandchildren Ronnie Aranda and Angelic Michelle, and great-grandchild William Kelley.

Petra B Aranda

Petra B. Aranda, beloved matriarch and fantastic homemaker, passed gently from this world on February 23, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on April 29, 1931, in Virden, New Mexico, the first breath of life given to her by parents Ramon Bejarano and Rumalda Burralo Bejarano.

Petra was one of ten children, growing up in a vibrant household filled with love, laughter, and the occasional squabble that only siblings could understand. Her feisty yet loving spirit became the cornerstone of her life—a mirror of the unconditional love she lavished upon her own family. On December 27, 1950, she wed the love of her life, Concepcion “Chono” Aranda, a bond that blossomed into a legacy rich with devotion and family.

Family was everything to Petra. It was within the embrace of her loved ones that she found joy, crafting memories that lingered long after they were made. Perhaps no moments were as cherished as the trips she took with her daughters and granddaughters to Memphis, where laughter and story-telling filled the air, each journey weaving tighter the threads of family bonds. To Petra, every instance of togetherness was a treasure, offering solace and strength in a world that often seemed too vast and impersonal.

Her love of the simple pleasures was reflected in her hobbies: from fishing trips in the shimmering lakes to immersing herself in the iconic films of John Wayne and the timeless tunes of Elvis Presley. These moments—rooted in nostalgia—brought her peace and happiness, encapsulating her joyful spirit.

Petra is survived by her cherished family: her loving son Chono (Anita) Aranda Jr., daughters Juanita (Donald) Torrio, Mary Jo Aranda, Susie (Jim) Henson, Dolores (David) Merino, Carmela (Richard) Ruiz, and sons Rick (Elena) Aranda and Reyes (Tabatha) Aranda. Extending her legacy are 31 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren—each carrying a piece of her heart within them. Completing the circle of her familial love is Tiny, her devoted little dog, always at her side.

Sadly, she is preceded in death by her beloved spouse Concepcion “Chono” Aranda, and daughter Mary Aranda, and siblings Pete Bejarano, and Danny Bejarano, along with the guiding lights of her parents, Ramon and Rumalda. Their memories resonate in her heart, as she now joins them in eternal rest.

As we gather to honor Petra’s remarkable life, a Rosary will be held at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Safford, Arizona, on March 9, 2026, at 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM. The final farewell will take place at Safford Cemetery at 12:30 PM.

In her passing, Petra leaves behind a narrative steeped in love, an indelible legacy that continues to radiate through her family. She will be greatly missed, but her memory will forever be woven into the very fabric of their lives.

When we lose someone we love, we can sometimes feel all alone, but in reality, there are people around us who care deeply for us and valued the life of our loved one. In fact, one of the purposes of a funeral is to bring people together to share cherished memories and to offer support to each other. Don't be afraid to let people love and care for you during a time of grief. You don't have to walk this journey alone.
