Treatment hunting is exhausting. Some are marginally helpful, some not at all, while others are very helpful. We seek to find hope, peace, and healing. I know because I hear it from many of you, including my own internal thoughts.

I have spent so much time and money seeking recovery from my past and present. Some treatment efforts have emotionally harmed me (tho I know it was not intentional, yet it still happened). I walked away feeling even more defeated, because what I needed most was safety and connection. I was not getting that in many treatment efforts.

Treatment hunting is exhausting. It keeps the body in a state of reaching and waiting, scanning the future, and preparing for potential disappointment. It takes a toll.

If I could go back a decade, I would tell myself to seek safety and connection; start there. What feels safe? What is giving me a connection? This is different for all of us.

If a practitioner ignores, dismisses, shames, pathologizes, or blames you, or cannot attune, they harm you. Your body registers that as danger. A body tracking danger cannot feel safe. It cannot function well because it is focused on self-protection.

As Dr. Steven Porges says, safety is the therapy. Find that - even in small amounts. Lean into that and let your body feel that safety and connection.

At Revivify, I provide just that to my clients - a strong sense of safety and connection through attunement. It allows you to unwind and begin to heal slowly and steadily.

I'm a second born of 8 kids. I'm a quiet force/behind the scenes type person.

I LOVE empowering women and so when I was asked to speak at the women's wellness conference over the weekend, I jumped at the opportunity, despite my nerves from being in the spotlight.

A client captured this while I spoke. An area I embrace to grow is to speak without using notes.

All small steps to take me out of my comfort zone of that quiet behind the scene force.

With any skill, we don't wake up one morning being successful at it. Sometimes I wish that were true and then reality hits - nope! Instead we need to maintain that skill through deliberate practice.

Massage therapy is no different. Not only do I have to be very intentional with my physical body, but mentally I also have to train (attunement). I want to be my highest self to best serve you!

This takes practice (especially at my age).

Attunement moves beyond technique. It's the practice of being deeply present and responsive to a client's emotional and physical state using therapeutic touch and nervous system regulation.

When you are on my table, you are my focus for the entire time. This is not an easy task to keep myself physically and emotionally responsive to not only myself but who's on my table.

I share this because I think it's important that these should are practiced so I can meet you where you're at through supportive touch.
