We'd like to extend a hearty "Thank You!" to Clubhouse International and their faculty, Michael Hamlin of Fountain House and Clubhouse Ohio, and Trent Anderson of Potential Place Society in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, for their visit to Bayside Clubhouse this week. Last week's Employment and Education Dinner was an in-house activity at Bayside where we enjoyed Rally's cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches and French fries. We focused on being job ready and what materials members have and need to be ready for a job interview. The checklist helps members work on a plan with staff on updating resumes, designing cover letters and making sure they have their proper identification.

Our Story

Bayside Clubhouse is a Psychosocial Rehabilitation program following the clubhouse model first introduced in New York City at Fountain House. It is currently managed by Training & Treatment Innovations, Inc (TTI), a non-profit agency under contract with Saginaw County Community Mental Health Authority (SCCMHA). The Clubhouse is member driven by consumers receiving mental health services, assisting them in the development of their employment, independent living, and socialization skills, as well as encouraging wellness and education. The clubhouse features an Business Unit, a Boutique, a Kitchen, and a Snackbar. A primary feature of clubhouse is the Transitional Employment Program (TEP). TEP job positions are guaranteed employment positions for clubhouse members, developed with local area businesses by the clubhouse staff. The positions are temporary, usually six months in length, and fully supported by the clubhouse staff. Bayside Clubhouse also features: *After hours Social Programming activities *Smoking Cessation Programs, Wellness Classes, and Physical Recreational Activities *Math Tutoring *Reading Tutoring

*Budgeting Classes *Assistance with both formal and informal educational goals *Job Development Meetings *Employment Dinners
