Whispering Meadow Pet Cemetery

Whispering Meadow Pet Cemetery We are a 24-hour Pet Cemetery that helps families with their pets end of life journey. Please look further for all the services we offer.

The former "Memorial Pet Cemetery", existing since 1975, is now under new management and a new name, Whispering Meadow Pet Cemetery & Funeral Services. Nestled in the country on 8 ½ acres, Whispering Meadow is a peaceful and tranquil resting place for your beloved pet. The cemetery is locally owned and operated, in Saginaw Township, by two pet rescuers. Having gone through the grieving process following the death of their beloved beagle Charlotte, Whispering Meadow was founded on the principal of helping people transition and heal from the death of their pet. Our services range from a simple burial and cremation to a full funeral service that includes a visitation, quiet reflection, a service led by local ministers and graveside burial services in the presence of family and friends. Our view is simple: we believe our pets are our family members and they deserve the same Care, Respect and Reverence as other members of our family. That is why Whispering Meadow has a licensed funeral director on staff. All pet owners and their pets will be treated with the love and dignity that they so deserve. We are here to help pet owners throughout the grieving and healing process. We are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week for any of your emergency needs.

Good evening from The Meadow!! It is finally dry enough to drive over the gardens and we were finally able to get in the first mow of the year! As always, the first mow is the worst. The grass is usually long and this year was no exception. The next cut will look much better after being "bagged" by the tractor.

We discovered our w**d trimmer is not working so bear with us as that gets fixed this week. We will trim around the markers and trees as soon as it is possible.

Weeks ago, we did a branch cleanup and picked up all the unclaimed grave blankets, wreaths and unsightly faded flowers.

In the weeks to come we will be posting reminders of our cemetery "do's and dont's". We've always had these in place, but have overlooked many of these, however, cleanup of certain items has been becoming increasingly unmanageable.

Good peaceful night everyone!!!!

We are saddened by the loss of K9 Canjo. Doug, you and Canjo are in our thoughts and prayers.

At 8:00 AM this morning, retired Saginaw Police K9 Canjo gained his forever angel wings and joined heaven’s K-9 unit. He fought numerous illnesses over the last 16 months and defied all odds each time. Many times he challenged his doctors with his diagnoses - or lack thereof - and taught some of them a few new things.

Canjo was instrumental in getting the SVPCA up and going. He attended hundreds community events, building bridges and opening minds to the idea of donation-funded K-9 units.

Rest now, Canjo. Your work on earth is done. You protected your dad and community with honor. We are better humans for having known you and loved you.

The Meadow got its second double cut today to get it to a good height. Dead clippings were power raked into rows and bagged away. The grounds should be easier to upkeep from this point on for the year.

These are the projects coming in the next few weeks!

1. Tree trimming (tomorrow)
2. Pull out dead/unsightly vegetation
3. Landscape around the chapel and pour a new walkway
4. Spread w**d/seed/fertilizers to kill w**ds and dandelions and freshen the grass
5. Burn the large brush pile

Great news from The Meadow!!! It is finally dry enough from the flooding to fully cut Garden two and three. As you can see the grass had the chance to grow far beyond our control. It was simply too wet this Spring to get our equipment through it without causing damage. We apologise for any unsightliness this has caused.

The entire meadow was cut today. Gardens one and four were not affected and were able to be cut as normal. Tomorrow we will be trimming around markers and collecting the dried up grass clippings.

Unsightly winter decorations were also removed.

This weekends cleanup was just the beginning of our grounds projects we have planned for this summer!

With the building fully renovated inside and out, last year, we can now focus on bringing beauty to the grounds this year! Stay in touch for the plans of operation announcements this week.

Looking forward to a great year.

We are nearing the end of the renovation of our facility. These photos are a timeline by area from day one to where we are today. With the chapel and selection room complete, we still have to finish the office and bathroom.

The Meadow was very busy this past weekend giving the building a major facelift. The building was in great need to be resided and also received a fresh door makeover. Our new sign was also installed in front of the building. There are still some lighting upgrades to be done. Now it is time for the inside of the chapel to get its makeover!!

We would like to thank Freddy from Frame Design and Build. He did an amazing job for us with a very tight budget.

We would also like to thank Zack Kolaja for work on the grounds.

The before and after photos are pretty drastic!!
