After a stay in our inpatient rehabilitation unit for pelvic and rib fractures, Chelsea has made incredible progress in our outpatient therapy here at Mary Free Bed at Covenant HealthCare. ✨

She’s now full weight bearing, back to running, and is able to resume playing with her children! 🏃‍♀️

And she didn’t do it alone, her therapist Erik even joined in on the challenges he set for her along the way.

Behind the scenes with Warren. 🧡

We loved having this Saginaw legend here at Mary Free Bed at Covenant HealthCare. ⭐

Last week, we had the honor of celebrating Warren Wedding’s 92nd birthday alongside WNEMTV5news.

A proud Navy veteran, Warren dedicated 65 years to serving the Saginaw community as a mail carrier. Along the way, he earned three USPS 1 Million Mile Awards, a rare honor for carriers who’ve obtained 1 million miles, or at least 30 years of safe driving. 🏅

During his stay, Warren pushed himself every day as he recovered from a stroke, all while spreading joy to everyone around him. If you turned on the music, he was quick to bust a move and get everyone smiling. 🕺

We’re grateful to have been part of his journey. 📫✨

Saginaw mail carrier celebrates 92nd birthday at Mary Free Bed ⬇️

This month’s Mary-est Moment belongs to our physical therapy and occupational therapy students who created a “Fall Into Exercise” experience during their clinical rotation! 🍂

From fishing and apple picking to building a tree and trying some friendly target practice, patients had their therapy transformed into a seasonal adventure. 🎣🍏

A huge thank you to these future clinicians for making our patients’ days brighter and more fun! 🧡

Today, we celebrate a Very Mary Graduation! 🎓

Barry, from Sugar Springs, MI, has shown incredible strength and determination on his road to recovery. After undergoing surgery in October to remove a blood clot from his spine, he joined us at Mary Free Bed at Covenant HealthCare.

His thoughtful appreciation for our staff reminds us why we love what we do.🧡✨

Clap outs are one of our favorite traditions and today, we proudly celebrate you, Barry! 👏

In 2022, Kaitlynn Farr’s rehabilitation journey started after an accident that left her with broken hips, a broken ankle, and two fractured vertebrae.

Just a few months later she was walking without any assistive device making her Wonder Woman nickname never more fitting. 🧡

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Maddy Gray🌟

Meet Maddy, one of our amazing acute care occupational therapists at the Cooper campus! 🧡

Each day, she completes evaluations and treatments with patients, helping them regain independence and confidence during recovery.💪

Maddy’s interest in healthcare began when she was nine years old after her grandmother became ill. Later, a friend encouraged her to explore occupational therapy—and she quickly fell in love with the diversity of the field. Acute care proved to be the perfect fit, allowing her to work with new patients and diagnoses every day.

Her journey with Covenant started at just 19! She began in medical records (HIM), worked as an NCA in the ER through school, and joined the rehabilitation team in 2019 after earning her license. 🏥

What she loves most is serving her hometown community and being a “frontliner” who offers patients their first sense of hope. Whether helping an ICU patient, a stroke survivor, or someone recovering from open-heart surgery, Maddy is passionate about advocating for her patients and their needs.

Outside of work, she enjoys time with her Irish Wolfhound, Denver, and loves listening to The Red Clay Strays. Fun fact — she read the entire chronological Bible in just 160 days! 📖🎶

Her advice for new therapists: “Keep an open mind and be willing to try settings outside your comfort zone. I’m grateful to have found my home in acute care at Covenant.” ✨
