We are proud to recognize Paritharsh Ghantasala, MD as the February Provider of the Month – Physician!

Dr. Ghantasala joined the Covenant Medical Staff in May 2020, and has been American Board of Internal Medicine–certified since 2017. As a dedicated member of the Hospital Medicine team, he is known for his collaborative approach, clear communication, and deep commitment to both patients and care teams. His willingness to listen, explain, and support—both at the bedside and behind the scenes—makes a meaningful difference every day.

Here is what his colleague and patient shared:

• “Dr. Ghantasala is always willing to listen and assist with issues—not just with patients, but also with processes that affect the behind-the-scenes staff who support the process of getting a patient discharged.”

• “Dr. Pari spoke to me in a way that I could understand my father’s condition. He received my father from the ICU and was bedside with me and my family immediately. He addressed all of our concerns and answered all of our questions about next steps and what to expect. I am very thankful for Dr. Pari and the Hospital Medicine team.”

Beginning in February 2026, we will recognize two Providers of the Month—one Physician and one Advanced Practice Provider (APP)—to celebrate extraordinary care and collaboration across our provider teams.

Congratulations, Dr. Ghantasala!

Congratulations to our February 2026 Heart of Gold recipients, nominated by their colleagues:

Alyssa Middleton, RN | Cooper 6 North
Chris McFrazier, MA | Covenant Cardiology

An excerpt from Alyssa’s nomination:
“A recent patient with a relatively new cancer diagnosis was admitted to 6N due to numerous medical issues and placed in protective precautions. Alyssa was her admitting nurse and cared for her multiple shifts where they bonded over their love of reading. Alyssa spent her breaks in the patient's room reading with her and talking about their favorite books. Alyssa even snuck in some of the patient's favorite candy. I have rounded on the patient daily and she has spoken so highly of the staff, but especially Alyssa and her ability to create ease in such an uneasy time. I am so proud of Alyssa and the heart she has for her patients!”

An excerpt from Chris’s nomination:
“Not long ago, an older gentleman come in who was extremely distraught over the loss of his son and was expressing suicidal ideations. Chris was one of the few people that this patient seemed to connect with, and Chris stayed with him the whole time while we sought much-needed help for this patient. He found that both he and the patient shared a love of music and so he kept the conversations focused on that while the rest of us worked behind the scenes to help the patient. A recent patient also said, “As a customer service employee, I think Chris is an exceptional young man. We all need more of him in the world.” He's just that kind of person--he cares about everyone around him--patients, their families, co-workers.”
