🐴🐴🐴🐴 I just wanted to say thank you to all my Equine massage clients for being so patient with my recovery. I am still in the healing process and doing physical therapy, I can’t wait to get back out and work on your equine friends and I will make a post and message clients when I reach that point. These boys are always so fun to work with, always easy to spot Ozzy in the barn with his pink tail lol

It’s so interesting to me too work on so many different horses with different styles of running and see how differently they use their bodies. I can usually tell if a horse uses their hind end to push or front end to pull in their turns. Today I used some extra tools to help these boys feel their best but they are just a tool to help facilitate healing and I believe there is no substitute for hands on massage techniques and feeing the muscles to see what they need! These are the same techniques that I use in humans for the same reasons.

Ozzy got a little extra tricep and Delt. treatment and Scuttle got some Gua Sha on his Longissimus into his Glutes. Gua Sha techniques help to promote healing by scraping muscle tissue to stimulate blood flow, stretch and relax muscles, increase range of motion and reduce pain. Many horses that use their hind end a lot tend to get right through their lumbar, glutes, and hamstrings. And a little pic of Ozzy trying to steal Scuttles treats while we do his poll release stretch 😂 (Disclaimer- I do not usually work on horses together in the same pen, however I know these boys and trust them both and this is how they enjoy their bodywork ❤️) thanks Allison for having me out to work on the boys 😊

I’ve known this mare for years and trust me when I say she does not like her poll being messed with. But during her massage today I put a lot of focus on her neck where she holds the most tension and by pushing out that lactic acid build up in her tight muscles and releasing those good feeling neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin, she was feeling pretty good! She was so relaxed she even started snoring a bit which is rare for her to let her guard down like that. I enjoyed watching her feel that release in her body and relieving some of that tension and anxiety for her ❤️ thanks for having me out to work on your girl 💕
