Where Generations Meet, Memories Are Made!

On the Friday before Christmas, in the La Joya neighborhood,
Laughter filled the room,
Where small hands and wise hands met in tune.
Employees’ children and residents side by side,
Sharing the joy that Christmas brings inside.

Santa stopped by with a twinkle and a grin,
Photos snapped of old friends and new kin.
Smiles lined up, tall and small,
Proof that magic has room for all.

A cookie bar waited—sweet and divine,
Chocolate chips, sugar, classics of every kind.
Self-serve joy, a culinary delight,
Crumbs of happiness from morning to night.

Balloon animals danced, tattoos shone bright,
Temporary treasures, pure delight.
At the craft tables, creativity grew,
Drawing and dreams brand new.

For residents, hearts felt young again,
For children, stories gained depth and then—
A shared moment, warm and genuine,
A scrumptious Christmas memory made together, too.

Because when generations gather and play,
Community grows in the most meaningful way.

Festive glitter cannon mission completed!

Last Friday, 15 La Posada department teams entered Merry, Bright, or Grinchy golf carts into La Posada's 5th year of this parade.

Under Arizona's bright blue desert skies, La Posada residents were immersed in a world filled with dancing elves and pigs, a dreaming beagle, a vibrant kitsch Christmas, skeptical Grinches, giant Hershey Kisses, mobile Christmas trees, roving chimney fireplaces, mystical trolleys, and a visit from Green Valley's number one North Pole snowbird,

The winners of the 2025 Festive Golf Cart Parade were

1. Mobile Santa's Toy Workshop - Facilities Department (This is their fourth time they have won this campus event.)

2. Dreaming of a White Christmas beagle - La Posada at Home

3. Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer (Yes, that was one of the entries in this contest.) - La Posada Community Services

Thank you, all team members, for taking the time to create and build innovative Christmas entries this year!

Stay tuned on Friday for pictures from the 5th Festive Golf Cart Parade at La Posada.

Cookies with Santa at La Posada!

At La Posada, belonging comes dressed in red,
With cookies to savor and kind words said.
Santa stopped by with a twinkle and cheer,
Bringing the holidays wonderfully near.

Some residents posed with a jolly old friend,
Smiles and laughter they didn’t have to leave home to find.
Others brought furrever friends—tails wagged with delight,
Paws and people together made the moment just right.

No rushing, no driving, no holiday fuss,
These joyful traditions come right to home.
A familiar place, friendly faces, warm cheer—
That’s how the season feels here.

At La Posada, the holidays aren’t far away,
They arrive at your doorstep and brighten the day.
Because when you belong, the magic stays near—
And the season feels sweeter year after year.

Yes, Virginia, there is a place where Santa and the Grinch parade together under Arizona’s bright blue skies!

Today, 15 festive La Posada employees decorated golf carts took to the roads around our campus to compete for one of three awards for the best holiday-decorated golf cart.

The residents of La Posada decide who wins the festive parade. Stay tuned for the results.

Now, take a moment to stop scrolling and spend a moment in the world of a merry and bright desert.

When the season sparkles with twinkling lights and a few uncertain moments, there’s one thing that always brings warmth—singing together.

Sing loud. Sing proud. And most of all, sing side by side.

In December, La Posada residents Marge Sperling and Marilyn Kabat turned an ordinary afternoon into a festive gift, leading an impromptu sing-along for their neighbors in the La Perla neighborhood.

From timeless Christmas classics to feel-good jolly favorites, the lobby filled with cheerful harmonies, shared smiles and laughter, and that unmistakable holiday magic that happens when voices—and hearts—come together.

Moments like these remind us that you don’t need a stage or a spotlight to feel like a star… just good friends, familiar melodies, and a place like La Posada, where community, connection, and joy are always in season.

What would you do if someone wore the same ugly sweater as you to an ugly sweater contest?

Here are three quick ideas:

-Declare a Sweater Twin Moment and strike a pose
-Challenge them to a dramatic “who wore it ugliest” runway walk
-Team up and call it a matching masterpiece

Last week, merry and bright energy filled the La Posada La Joya neighborhood during a festive Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest, where staff wore their most gloriously gaudy holiday sweaters—and residents cast the deciding votes.

Congratulations to the winners:

1st Place: Damaris Solis, Assisted Living Supervisor, in a delightfully mischievous Grinch sweater

2nd Place: Roxanna Martinez, Case Management & At-Home Administrative Assistant, spreading cheer in a classic reindeer sweater

3rd Place: Rebecca Miller, Licensed Practical Nurse, shining bright in a Christmas ornament–themed sweater

A total of 11 employees joined the fun, with sweaters ranging from Snoopy and a tie-dye Christmas tree to poinsettias and even a western-inspired holiday look.

As the votes were tallied, residents captured the moment by posing for photos inside a festive Christmas bow frame, adding an extra dash of sparkle to the celebration.

Proof that a bit of holiday humor—and a lot of community spirit—can make the season even brighter.

Happy National Ugly Sweater Day from Southern Arizona!

Get ready, La Posada!

The cheer-filled glitter cannon of the holiday season is next week…The La Posada employee festive golf cart parade!

Over the last couple of years, this event has been filled with wonderful, fun, innovative surprises. We have been amazed by the designs and decorations placed on the golf carts.

Will the Facilities depart win a 4th year? Will Santa and the Grinch become friends? Will the culinary team make a real gingerbread cookie golf cart this year? 😮

This post is a reminder to all our staff members of what they created at last year’s festive golf cart parade.

Good luck and have fun this year!
