Holiday paintings and cranberry–popcorn garland making!

Our creativity is in full swing as we continue crafting décor for the holiday season. The laughter was flowing… and so was the popcorn! We may have eaten more than we strung, but that’s all part of the fun.

Beautiful art, festive music, joyful company — it was the perfect way to kick off the holidays!

We captured the sweetest moment during our tree decorating.

Sherry was having a tough moment—and we all have our moments—but her friend and neighbor Sandy stepped in with a comforting hug and a gentle handhold. These small acts of compassion are what make our community feel like family.

Moments like this remind us that support, kindness, and connection are just as important as the holiday traditions we share.

✨ The decorating continues! ✨
Today Mike, Anne, Peter, and Pauline lent their wonderful eye for holiday décor as we trimmed the lobby and dining room trees in Assisted Living. With festive music playing, there was dancing, laughing, and plenty of holiday cheer in the air.

And the biggest hit of the day? Mike’s new hat! Yes… that is mistletoe on top! Watch out, ladies — he had everyone giggling!

Moments like these remind us how meaningful teamwork, shared traditions, and holiday stories are in Assisted Living. They bring joy, connection, and a sense of togetherness that makes this season so special.

🌸 Fresh Flowers = Fresh Smiles! 🌸

Today we received a beautiful donation of fresh flowers from someone in the community, and Sharon and Sandy jumped right into action! They whipped up some lovely centerpieces to brighten our dining room and bring a little extra joy to their neighbors.

Activities like this are a wonderful example of our Montessori approach in action. Community roles—such as arranging flowers, setting tables, or helping with small tasks—give our memory care residents a sense of purpose, independence, and belonging. These familiar, hands-on jobs help support cognitive function, boost confidence, and create meaningful moments throughout the day.

Great job, ladies! Our dining room looks amazing thanks to you.

🎄✨ Christmas is officially underway! ✨🎄

Today our amazing Decorating Committee rolled up their sleeves and filled our community with holiday spirit. We kicked things off by putting up our beautiful Christmas tree — and the smiles were just as bright as the lights!

Holiday traditions and memories are so meaningful, especially for our residents living with dementia. The sights, sounds, and rituals of the season help spark connection, comfort, and joy. And today, we saw that magic in action.

A huge shoutout to Sandy, John K., John W., Sherry, and Sharron for bringing the cheer, the creativity, and the Christmas sparkle. You all did an incredible job!

Today’s adventure was anything but ordinary!
Mike Dominic and Grumpy spent the morning exploring the Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum in St. Augustine and they had an absolute blast diving into a world of oddities, curiosities, and jaw-dropping wonders. From bizarre artifacts to mind-bending illusions, there was something surprising around every corner.

Some of their favorites included testing their strength just like the strongmen of the past, marveling at a two-headed parrot, and admiring an entire space station made out of matchsticks — talk about talent and patience! Each new discovery brought big smiles, lots of laughs, and plenty of “you’ve got to be kidding me!” moments.

We love days filled with curiosity, wonder, and unforgettable memories — and today was definitely one for the books!

Today our dining room was filled with warm smiles, full hearts, and delicious Thanksgiving favorites. Residents, families, and team members gathered together to share a beautiful lunch, swap stories, and celebrate the joy of togetherness.

A huge thank you to our amazing dining team for preparing such a delicious feast! Your hard work, creativity, and care make holidays like this feel truly special. We are so grateful for everything you do.

We are thankful for the moments of laughter, the friendships that continue to grow, and the sense of family we create here every single day. Holidays shine a little brighter when shared with people you love.

It’s a great day to have a great day — especially when Sandy is around!

Today’s challenge: a towering marble-run masterpiece!

Jim was in his element this morning. He’s always been our master builder — from vintage car kits to an incredible giant model of the Titanic! While those tiny pieces aren’t as easy for him to handle anymore, this marble run set was the perfect way to bring out his love of building.

Not only did Jim craft an impressive tower, but he also jumped right in to help his fellow residents, sharing tips, encouragement, and his lifelong passion for creating.

As part of our Montessori-inspired approach, we focus on what our residents CAN do — their strengths, their talents, and the joy they bring to each other — instead of what they cannot. Today was the perfect example of that in action.

When that first marble zipped through the entire run, the whole room erupted in cheers!
