What Is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of holistic wellness originating in India. It addresses the mind, body, and spirit as an interconnected whole.
Ayurveda emphasizes living in harmony with nature through mindful eating, appropriate movement, conscious breathing, stress reduction, restful sleep, and simple daily practices that support balance and long-term health. In this training, you will explore the Five Great Elements (Maha Bhutas)—space, air, fire, water, and earth—and how they manifest within the human body and mind.
Arianne Marks will guide you in identifying your dosha, the fundamental bio-energetic force that governs physical, mental, and emotional processes.
There are three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—each formed from a unique combination of the five elements. Your personal combination of these doshas is known as your Prakriti (constitution). Understanding your Prakriti empowers you to make informed choices around diet, lifestyle, and movement to cultivate balance, vitality, and harmony.
You will learn how to recognize when your doshas are balanced or imbalanced, and explore practical Ayurvedic tools and daily practices to restore equilibrium.AriAnne will also teach how specific yoga practices and asanas support each dosha. This knowledge will allow you to create intentional, dosha-informed yoga sequences for yourself or your clients.
Just as nature shifts through the seasons, the doshas fluctuate throughout the time of day and the seasons of the year. You will learn how to work with these natural rhythms to maintain balance in mind, body, and spirit year-round.

Mandy will show you what props you will need for each posture and the proper amount of time to be held. She will discuss injuries and how to properly work with your students who may have limitations.
