Those first moments matter more than most people realize 🤍

What you’re seeing here is a newborn being supported immediately after birth — often before they even take their first full breath. During this time, babies are transitioning from life inside the womb (where oxygen comes from the placenta) to breathing on their own.

✨ Fun fact:
A baby’s lungs are filled with fluid before birth. That first cry helps clear that fluid and allows the lungs to expand, starting independent breathing.

✨ Another important detail:
Skin-to-skin contact shortly after birth helps regulate baby’s temperature, heart rate, and breathing, while also promoting bonding and breastfeeding success.

Birth isn’t just a moment — it’s a powerful physiological transition for both baby and parent.

Cholestasis is one of those diagnoses that can quietly shift everything.

What started as a typical pregnancy plan can change in an instant—turning into a medically necessary, urgent cesarean at just 35 weeks.
