🤍 March New Mama + Pregnancy Circles 🤍

So many amazing topics this month, then rounding out the month with a positive home & hospital birth storytelling circle.

Our goal is to provide you with connection, a place to feel safe and never judged, a place to learn from other moms.

A note about our hosting style:

Our hosts are not guests. They are mothers and trusted resources in our community, who have found a home in this place just like you, who believe in lifting each other up. They each bring a unique knowledge and wisdom to this space. It is not their job to “lead” a group, but simply hold space to let the mothers find what they need.

We hope that you find something that serves you here, whether it is knowledge, friendship or support. Our doors are always open 🫶🏼

Birth spaces matter.

Where you labor and give birth influences how safe your body feels, how supported your nervous system is, and how freely the process can unfold.

A calm, familiar environment can help lower stress, encourage movement, and support the natural rhythms of labor.

This birth center was designed to hold both safety and softness at the same time.

If you are exploring your options for birth, we invite you to get familiar with the space where so many families begin this chapter.

Save this to revisit later or share with someone preparing for their birth.

The birth ball is for so much more than bouncing.

When used intentionally, it can support comfort, movement, and progress throughout pregnancy and labor, especially when your body needs options.

Ways to use a birth ball beyond bouncing:

Hip circles
Slow, controlled circles can help release tension in the hips and encourage baby to find an optimal position.

Forward leaning rest
Leaning forward over the ball can take pressure off the lower back and support relaxation during contractions.

Alternative seating
Swapping a couch or desk chair for a birth ball can promote better posture and gentle movement during pregnancy.

Early labor vs active labor
In early labor, the ball can support rest and rhythmic movement. In active labor, it can help you stay upright, mobile, and engaged with contractions.

Not pictured: Partner supported positions
A partner can provide grounding, counter pressure, or support while you lean or rest on the ball.

The birth ball is a simple tool, but when used with intention, it becomes a powerful way to work with your body instead of against it.

Save this for labor practice and talk through these options with your birth team so you feel confident using them when the time comes.

The first forty days after birth are a time of deep recovery, not a return to normal.

Your body has lost blood, fluids, and warmth. Your nervous system is recalibrating. Your organs are shifting back into place. Nourishment during this time is not about restriction or balance. It is about restoration.

Warm, slow cooked foods are easier to digest, help replenish minerals, and support healing when your body is doing its most demanding work. Stewed fruits, broths, gentle proteins, healthy fats, and plenty of fluids all help your system rebuild from the inside out.

This is not about doing postpartum perfectly. It is about giving your body what it is asking for in a season that requires so much of you.

If all you can manage is warm meals, hydration, and rest, that is enough. Your body knows how to heal when it is supported.

Save this for postpartum preparation or share with someone entering their first forty days.

S*x during pregnancy and postpartum often comes with questions, uncertainty, and shifting expectations.

For most healthy pregnancies, s*x is safe and can even support labor at full term by increasing oxytocin. After birth, it is normal to experience dryness, tenderness, and changes in desire. Healing happens on both a physical and emotional level.

There is no timeline you need to meet. Go slowly. Communicate openly. Choose comfort and consent at every step.

Save this for later or share it with your partner this Valentine’s Day 💗

Oxytocin is often called the love hormone, but in birth it is also the hormone of progress and connection.

It rises when the body feels safe.
When touch is gentle.
When support is steady and present.

Birth is not only physical. It is hormonal and deeply emotional. When love is supported, birth becomes more powerful.

Double tap for the hormones that make birth powerful 💗

Meet new mama Elorah 🤍 13 weeks postpartum and glowing with honesty.

We sat down with Elorah to talk about her experience following the 5-5-5 postpartum protocol (5 days in bed, 5 on the bed, 5 around the bed). She shared how slowing way down helped her bond deeply with her baby, support her physical recovery, and feel more grounded in those early weeks. She also opened up about the real challenges like being ok with saying no, surrendering productivity, and trusting rest in a culture that rushes mamas back.

Elorah is the owner of and it’s no surprise that her postpartum journey reflected the same mindfulness and intention she brings to her practice 🧘🏽‍♀️✨

A reminder that healing isn’t linear, rest is powerful, and every postpartum story deserves space 💛

Island Birth House is a thoughtfully created space for families seeking care that honors the full journey from pregnancy through birth, postpartum, and beyond. Rooted in collaboration and evidence informed support, our model centers your values, your choices, and your lived experience.

Located at 906 Anastasia Blvd, across from the Alligator Farm and just minutes from Flagler Hospital, our space was designed to feel grounded, welcoming, and connected to the community we serve.

Island Birth House is for families who want to be active participants in their care. We believe birth is deeply personal, not one size fits all. Every family deserves options, informed support, and care that recognizes the whole person, not just the process.
