Valentine’s Royal Prom at Silver Treasure at St. Augustine-where every resident gets their moment to shine. Today’s Valentine’s celebration was all about one message:every resident here is a King or Queen not because of crowns, but because of the life they’ve lived and the strength they carry.
Many of our residents are in a chapter where they’re living independently, without the partners they once shared decades of memories. And yet, their strength, humor, resilience shine brighter than ever. Valentine’s Day can feel different in this season of live- but today everyone was seen, honored, and uplifted.

They enjoyed real china tea sets, sweets, and warm conversation-an elegant moment that supports social connection, engagement, and true sense of home. Activity work has been around for a long time — way before we had fancy calendars, themed parties, or Bluetooth speakers. In the early days, activity staff were mostly seen as “the ones who keep everyone busy.” But over the years, our field grew, evolved, and proved something powerful: engagement isn’t extra — it’s essential.
Today, Activity Professionals are recognized as the heart‑lifters, the mood‑shifters, the memory‑makers, and sometimes the unofficial comedians of the building. And since today is Activity Professionals Day — January 23, 2026 — it feels right to celebrate the work that keeps our residents smiling, moving, and feeling alive.
I also want to thank Silver Treasures for giving me the chance to serve as Activity Director. I’ve worked in many settings, but this facility truly sets some of the highest standards when it comes to resident care and their quality of life.
And now, I’m excited to introduce the two amazing coworkers I’ve had the privilege to work with. They each bring their own spark, their own strengths, and their heart to this community. I’m grateful, I’m proud, and I’m celebrating all of us who do this heart work every day.— Rowena G.

Before I brag on them individually, let me just say this: I’ve been working with two absolute gems. Each one brings their own flavor, their own fire, and their own “keep Row in line” skills. Trust me… you’ll see what I mean in a second.

Teamwork is our vibe here at Silver Treasures & here’s just one small example…Damary, one of our hardworking Housekeepers is just a bit short to reach the very top of the front doors….our dedicated Maintenance man Dennis happened to be passing by and he jumped right in to help.
