EPIC Behavioral Healthcare provides free naloxone (Narcan) at all five of our campuses listed below.
“Drug-related deaths in Northeast Florida and statewide decreased dramatically between 2023 and 2024, according to a new report.”
Fewer deaths in Northeast Florida from fentanyl, co***ne, and oxycodone are attributed to several factors, including the increased availability of naloxone. Learn more about this study at https://jaxtoday.org/2025/10/24/drug-deaths-decline-florida.
Making naloxone available is a significant step forward in providing a safe and stigma-free way for anyone to access this medication and help prevent opioid overdoses.
EPIC is participating in the iSaveFL Overdose Prevention initiative, made possible by the Florida Department of Children and Families.

EPIC Behavioral Healthcare offers rapid response services designed to provide on-demand crisis intervention services in any setting where a behavioral health crisis occurs, lessening trauma and providing triage, assessment, and referral to the appropriate treatment.
The Rapid Response Team ensures that individuals 26 years and older in St. Johns County who need crisis intervention and counseling services receive them within 60 minutes of requesting mobile crisis services. The Team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
If this service is needed, please call 988, as they provide an initial screening before the Team’s involvement. Note: If you are concerned about someone 25 and under and would like to request similar Rapid Response services, please call 988, as they also screen for services for that age group.

Our mission is to strengthen our community by providing person-centered care to individuals and families impacted by substance use and mental health disorders, and other behaviors through a comprehensive system of Education, Prevention, Intervention, and Counseling.
Our vision is to be the primary leader of quality, comprehensive behavioral healthcare in our community.
EPIC Behavioral Healthcare (EPIC) believes that recovery from addiction, substance use disorders and mental health disorders is real. People can, and do, overcome the internal and external challenges, barriers, and obstacles that confront them. EPIC agrees that addiction is defined as a chronic, relapsing brain disease that is characterized by compulsive drug seeking and use, despite harmful consequences. EPIC also recognizes that many individuals served by our agency are challenged by a mental health disorder. While treatable, EPIC believes that substance use and mental health disorders impact all areas of an individual’s life, including all of their relationships, vocational/education goals and skills, emotional well-being and their physical health. For both substance use and mental disorders, our commitment is to provide effective, affordable, evidence-based, culturally-sensitive and comprehensive care to impacted individuals and families.
EPIC has historically incorporated the idea of, “wellness,” into our programs. This allows EPIC to have the best outcomes for our clients. EPIC focuses on formalizing its commitment to overall wellness for our clients using SAMHSA’s (Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration) 8 Dimensions of Wellness as a guideline.
EPIC pledges to provide quality services and care to our community’s most vulnerable citizens. We will work to improve understanding in our community about mental and substance use disorders. We will promote emotional health and the prevention of addiction/substance use and mental disorders and will increase access to effective treatment and wellness programs while supporting recovery.
EPIC promises that children, adolescents, families, adults and seniors will find the support and help needed through our continuum of care to improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential while on the path to recovery from addiction/substance use disorders and mental health disorders.
Our philosophy is person-centered which means we put you at the center of your treatment and respect your freedom to make your own choices and choose your own direction.
