We hope the summer months brought you a nice variation in schedule and a time of refreshment. Here at Integrative Neurology, Dr. Baldino took some time to travel, but never took time off from learning. He spent a weekend teaching "Introduction to Functional Neurology" at the Michigan Association of Chiropractor’s 2023 Convention. He also participated in a Brain Dissection Course at The Carrick Institute in Florida under the instruction of Dr. Carrick, a pioneer in his field. He had the opportunity to demonstrate and highlight what he saw in the brain; a truly fascinating atmosphere. Dr. Baldino's hunger for continued learning and personal and professional growth are some of his greatest attributes; making him a better doctor for you. Here are a few pictures from those events. In this picture, Dr. Joe Baldino is rehabilitating a patient who was having balance issues and lightheadedness due to a condition called POTS. It's an acronym that means Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome....So when she would change positions (laying to seated or seated to standing) her brain felt it was not getting enough oxygen, so it would immensely speed up her heart rate to get more blood up there, but sometimes it wasn't enough and would lead to fainting or worse. In this picture she is at a point to where she was able to be upright, challenge balance and practice eye hand coordination all at the same time compared to when she first started treatment she would be laying on the floor because she could not get up.
