There are 13 pairs of muscles that directly support the spine & many more that support pelvis and head. These muscles can become weak from an injury, from compensating to avoid pain, or fear of “overdoing it”. If this happens, the support around the neck & back fades & puts greater stress on the spine, the discs, & the other nearby muscles. This is often the reason for pain.
