🦃 Happy Thanksgiving from Higher Purpose Coaching! 🦃

Today is about connection, gratitude, and being right where your feet are.

If that includes your classic family traditions? Do them.
If that includes your favorite food? Have it.
If that includes a nap that hits harder than leg day? Absolutely yes.

And when the day winds down, I hope you also feel good — not because you were perfect, but because you honored yourself too. Move a little if it feels good, breathe, hydrate, take a moment of gratitude, and know that caring for YOU is part of today as much as caring for everyone else.

I want to thank you not just as clients, but as people.
You are thoughtful, caring, hardworking individuals.

HPC December BLITZ Challenge
The Final Tier of the Ruck–Trek–Blitz Series

December 1–31

Winter is here… and so is the BLITZ.
This final tier is all about grit, consistency, and doing the hard things when everyone else is slowing down.

For the month of December, your mission is simple:
Complete 12 outdoor workouts — at least 20 minutes each — before December 31st.
Walk, hike, snowshoe, ski, shovel (yes, it counts), or bundle up and get moving however you choose.
Fresh air. Cold air. Doesn’t matter — the goal is movement with intention.

Join as a group of 3, group of 2, or go solo.
Hit the goal and you'll be entered into the end-of-month prize drawing for some HPC goodies!

Why the BLITZ Matters (Especially in December)

• It boosts your mood and sharpens your mindset.
Cold-weather movement increases serotonin and dopamine — the feel-good chemicals that help beat the winter blues.

• It keeps your energy high.
Short, consistent outdoor sessions improve circulation, boost calorie burn, and prevent that “holiday sluggishness” from sneaking in.

• It strengthens your immune system.
Regular, moderate outdoor activity helps your body fight off seasonal sickness (aka: winter’s favorite party trick).

• It builds discipline and mental toughness.
Showing up in cold, wind, or snow is the definition of “doing what you said you would do.” That’s HPC to the core.

• It gets you off the couch and into your environment.
You experience nature, fresh air, and daylight — all things your brain desperately needs this time of year.

• It reinforces HPC’s mission.
This challenge embodies everything HPC stands for:
Train hard. Fuel right. Live with purpose.
Movement, health, strength, community, and choosing actions that support your mental state, not just your physical fitness.

This December… don’t hide from winter — lean into it.

The BLITZ Challenge is your chance to finish 2025 strong, stay consistent through the chaos, and start the new year feeling proud of what you accomplished.

Congratulations to all of the participants and top finishers in this week’s step challenge. With so many people joining in, showcasing a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place felt well-deserved—totals were high, the effort was undeniable, and the friendly competition made the week energizing to watch.

Team of 3:
1st - Dream Team -- 315,252 steps
2nd - Sister Act 3 -- 304,162 steps
3rd - Theilen Good -- 276,872 steps

Team of 2:
1st - Battle Buddies -- 241,581 steps
2nd - Lisa T + Billie M -- 233,059 steps
3rd - Daughter Dad Duo -- 215,165 steps

Solos:
1st - Hannah L -- 109,541 steps
2nd - Cori Schulte -- 98,935 steps
3rd - Lisa Bertram -- 95,347 steps

As we head into a new week, the challenge is simple for this crew: aim for 500–1,000 extra steps per day or beat the total you logged this past week. You vs. you. As temperatures drop, staying committed to movement becomes even more important. Getting outside for fresh air, sunlight, and continuous activity can make a significant difference in how your body feels and how your mindset holds steady through the colder seasons.

And one thing is obvious: this community loves to MOVE.

This challenge is about more than steps. It’s about fighting back against the winter blues, staying connected, encouraging one another, and proving that consistency—big or small—adds up.

🌎 From Waite Park to San Salvador-A RUCKING GOOD STORY🥾

Imagine this: you pack a bag (weighted down of course), lace up your boots, and set off on a journey south. The calendar reads October 1st.

Thirty-one days stretch ahead — step by step, mile by mile — until you arrive at your destination on Halloween. It's San Salvador, El Salvador. 2,849 miles away from your starting point.

The Ruck Challenge for October brought in 40 competitors, and every single step taken by the rucking competitors added up to that number. 2,849 miles.
This means each person averaged 70 miles in one month — and yet, the goal in the beginning was simple:
One mile per day.
Just 31 miles total.

Almost everyone far surpassed that.

What does that tell us?
That small goals matter.
That attainable goals build consistency.
And that consistency, once in motion, creates unstoppable momentum.

But the real story isn’t just about the miles.
It’s about the community that carried each other forward — the like-minded people who showed up, cheered, competed, and brought their families along.

It’s proof that when you create the environment, you earn the reward.
Start small.
Stay steady.
And watch how far you can go — sometimes all the way to El Salvador.

👟 November 200k Trek Challenge 👟

Who’s ready to move with us this November? 🙌

The goal: 200,000 steps for the whole month—that’s about 6,700 steps a day. Totally doable, and every extra step you take just adds to the fun (and the leaderboard 😉).

✨ How it works:

**$50 buy-in.
**Join as a team of 3, team of 2, or go solo.
**Steps count whether you’re on the treadmill or outside.
**Teams compete against teams, solos against solos.

The best part? You’ll be part of an encouraging community that cheers you on, keeps you accountable, and adds in some friendly competition. Even if it’s just you vs. you, you’ll be amazed at what a little consistency can add up to.

By the end of the month, you’ll not only hit your goal—you might even go further than you thought possible. 💪

One more time…Thank you to everyone who voted, those who believe in the vision of HPC, and those who have supported me endlessly—Best Personal Trainer in Central MN for 2025. This is an honor.

Thank you for trusting me with your health, your goals, and your time. Thank you for showing up not just for yourselves, but for one another—encouraging, cheering, and proving that accountability and community truly matter.

Owning and growing Higher Purpose Coaching has been one of the biggest honors of my life. Year two has been full of challenges, lessons, and incredible wins, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of this community. Because of you, HPC is a place where people feel their best and discover the potential that’s been inside them all along.

HPC exists to remind you that the strongest version of yourself is built from the inside out. Through fitness, nutrition, and adventure, we help you finish what you start, pursue growth, and live with purpose.

For year 2026, we're bringing back the Summit Project in June! This is a whole-person experience that does a lot for someone, both physically and mentally.

Here are my favorite, first hand, experiences I witnessed in people in 2025's Summit Project:

Lasting Transformation: When someone proves to themselves, they can summit a mountain, their belief in what’s possible expands. They then also carry that confidence into work, relationships, and life challenges. The experience becomes a story of growth, resilience, and belonging.

Ignites a Sense of Purpose: A summit gives someone something meaningful to work toward, not just “another workout.” It ties daily choices (training, nutrition, discipline) to a larger goal.

Creates Deep Connection: New friendships form because everyone’s pursuing the same purpose. The group atmosphere makes it bigger than “me”—it’s “us.”

The summit becomes proof that strength is built from the inside out.

Choosing to live with purpose. Choosing to have goals that create drive. Choosing a community that is like minded.

This challenge is a reflection of that: every mile logged is a reminder that progress comes from consistency, discipline, and finishing what you start. Nearly every member who joined this challenge has taken seriously what this kind of consistency can do for them—and I couldn’t be more proud.

Clients at HPC work hard, see the big picture, and want to grow. I love the resilience this group has, and how it feeds off one another in the healthiest, most positive way.

This week brings a new twist: only outdoor miles will count. It’s a way to lean into the deeper ‘why’ of HPC—fresh air that resets us, nature that recharges us, and shared steps that create real connection.

It’s not about chasing perfection, it’s about embracing challenge as growth and proving to yourself that you’re capable of more.

That’s HPC: strength, resilience, and adventure with purpose.

A huge shoutout to our WEEK 2 WINNERS —The Dream Team (Shelley Schlichting, Sara Thorson & Jennifer Holtz), Midlife Movers (Holli Rathlisberger & Lacey Jensen Woltermann), and Chad Leither!

The competition was so close across the board this week, and it’s been amazing watching everyone rack up miles, encourage one another, and bring the energy. 🙌 Having like-minded goals has already sparked new friendships and stronger connections, which has been one of the more fun byproducts of doing something like this.

The accountability this challenge has created is phenomenal. People are finding so much value in movement that they’re carving out pockets of time to recharge, separate from their task-filled days, and even starting or ending their day outside, simply appreciating what the outdoors has to offer. 🌲☀️

I can’t wait to see how all these miles add up by the end of October — but even more, I'm excited to keep building this community side-by-side. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️
