I was going to let this go, but after this morning’s 6am surprise I had to say something. These two jolly son of a guns, DC and Shane, took it upon themselves to roll out a brand new “Athletes of the Month” award, fully complete with a framed photo and everything (which honestly I have to respect the preparation and confidence). 👏🏻

While I CAN confirm they show up consistently (I’ll give you that one), I’m still not exactly sure how they landed on themselves as the winners. But, in the spirit of fun and a little friendly competition I’ll allow it under the category of “Self-Appointed Athletes of the Month,” where they are currently UNDEFEATED. Way to go boys!

Just a quick heads up that this title doesn’t come with lighter weights or fewer reps, but it does come with a little extra spotlight now, so I’ll see you both tomorrow at 6am 😉

We hope anyone reading this enjoys the friendly April fools banter.

Summer Training for kids at HPC is coming and you can claim your spot immediately!

HPC now has TWO youth training groups this summer, each designed to meet kids where they’re at and help them grow into strong, confident movers in the gym.

Ages 14–18 → Champion Camp
Mondays & Wednesdays
11:00–11:50am
Limited to 12 spots

This is where things level up 🔥

We take those foundational skills and turn them into:
• Strong, confident lifting
• Structured strength + conditioning
• Improved performance (in sports and everyday life)
• Independence in the gym

This group is perfect for athletes or anyone ready to train with more intention and intensity.

Ages 11–13 → HPC Foundations Class
Mondays & Wednesdays
12:00–12:50pm
Limited to 12 spots

This is our intro to strength training (at a very basic level) + conditioning where everything starts.

We focus on:
• Learning proper movement mechanics
• Bodyweight and assisted movements
• Coordination, balance, and control
• Building confidence in a gym setting and making it fun too!

This group is designed to set them up for success long-term, so when they grow into more advanced training (like Champion Camp), they already know how to move safely and effectively.

No experience needed. Just a place to learn, grow, and build a strong foundation 💪

Spots are limited for each program so every athlete gets proper coaching and attention.

Cost: $360/athlete.
If more than one athlete from the same household is attending the HPC Summer Programs, the cost is $330/athlete.

If you want your kid to not only get stronger but actually learn how to train safely and confidently as they grow, this is it.

Message me or drop a comment and I’ll get you the details! Enrollment ends May 15th.

Crunching some stats today, and this was really fun to look at.

If you’re part of HPC right now (either the gym or online nutrition) this is because of you. The way you show up, stay consistent, and put effort into your health really stands out.

Accountability, real results, and community clearly matter here, and it shows every single day. I’m just really happy for all of you who walk through these doors and keep doing the dang thing.

When you look at the picture below, I hope you can say, "HEY! She's talking about ME!"

High fives all around. You guys kick ass. 💥

**Feel free to mention in the comments below how long you’ve been with HPC! 🙌🏻

104 days until the first of two Summit Groups head out to CO, but who’s counting? 🤣

There’s a common misconception about people who climb mountains. From the outside, it can look reckless. Like it’s about chasing adrenaline or doing something extreme just to say you did it.

But in my own experience, that’s rarely the reason people go to the mountains.

Hiking and being in the mountains have made me more thoughtful, patient, and methodical (although I have so much more to learn). The mountains demand that. They require preparation, humility, and the ability to slow down and take one step at a time. On a 14er there’s no noise, no distractions, no shortcuts. Just effort, breath, weather, terrain, and the next step in front of you.

And somewhere along the way, something shifts.

By the end of this project, the 23 individuals will be able to have an answer to: "Who am I when things get tough?" And my favorite, “What else can I accomplish now moving forward?”

Higher Purpose Coaching continues to keep growing into one of the most beautiful communities around. Filled with people who want to do more, and make life spectacularly memorable. All because they prioritized their health. And surrounded themself with others who want to do the same.

🏔️ Summit Project Stay Update

We’re officially locked in for this year’s Summit Project — and here’s where our two crews will be calling home in Colorado:

• Group 1: Breckenridge, CO
• Group 2: Keystone, CO

Both groups will be staying together in mountain homes that will serve as our home base for early mornings, coffee, gear checks, recovery, post-hike laughs, and building real friendships while doing really hard things together.

Training is underway, plans are coming together, and it’s all starting to feel very real.

Colorado, we’re coming. 🏔️✨

Imagine if you never stopped choosing momentum.

At 50, Dave Swanson made a decision to keep challenging himself and see where it could lead. He joined and trained for one of the most iconic and largest ski races, the BIRKIE.

That choice has carried him 27 years and counting. Dave still lines up for Kortelopet and Birkie ski races, still trains, still shows up, and still treats movement as part of everyday life.

Along the way, that commitment grew into something even bigger. His daughter and grandsons joined in, turning what began as a personal goal into a shared family experience—one built on effort, time together, and enjoying the process.

This fall into winter, during our Trek/Blitz series, Dave quietly set the tone with his teammate and daughter, Melissa. He blew all of us out of the water with his daily movement.

This is what long-term progress really looks like.
Simple choices, made often, that add up over time.

Imagine what’s possible when you keep choosing that.

Dave, thank you for being such a steady source of inspiration—for your family, this community, and everyone watching what consistency can become!

DECADES OF MOTION TURNS INTO GENERATIONS INSPIRED. 😁

Lindbergh parking lot was packed this weekend—and yep, it was us!

Twenty HPC members and Summit Project crew filled the lot and hit the trail for our first hike together. We got some miles in, started talking gear, and took those first real steps toward what’s coming.

The vibes were great, the excitement is real, and this group is just getting warmed up. Only 4 months to go and we’re officially in it. Big things ahead. 🏔️

The amount of people who have either found HPC through Google reviews or word of mouth is outstanding—so thank you to anyone who’s left one or spread the word.

This space has become a family, and that feeling is what draws people in and keeps them here. If you’ve ever felt supported, encouraged, or at home at HPC and feel like sharing that, it makes a big difference for those looking for a place like this!

Angela Duckworth, the one behind the quote in this post, literally studies grit for a living. She even wrote a whole book on what it really takes to accomplish meaningful, hard things. *Sign me up*

Her research points to four things that consistently build grit: interest, practice, purpose, and hope. So, here’s your Monday reminder. In anything you want to accomplish:

Interest. You have to care. Not every day will feel exciting, but there has to be something about it that pulls you forward. If it doesn’t matter to you, it won’t last when it gets inconvenient.

Practice. This is the unglamorous part. The steady effort. The reps that don’t look impressive. The habits that feel ordinary. Most people don’t quit because they’re incapable. They quit because they stop showing up consistently.

Purpose. At some point, you have to trust that what you’re doing right now counts. That the small, disciplined choices are building something bigger than today.

Hope. The belief that you can handle what’s ahead. Not perfectly. Not effortlessly. Just steadily.

"Endurance is common. Endurance is rare." - Angela Duckworth
"Don't just start. Stay too." - Holly Pelzer 😉
