Lindbergh parking lot was packed this weekend—and yep, it was us!

Twenty HPC members and Summit Project crew filled the lot and hit the trail for our first hike together. We got some miles in, started talking gear, and took those first real steps toward what’s coming.

The vibes were great, the excitement is real, and this group is just getting warmed up. Only 4 months to go and we’re officially in it. Big things ahead. 🏔️

The amount of people who have either found HPC through Google reviews or word of mouth is outstanding—so thank you to anyone who’s left one or spread the word.

This space has become a family, and that feeling is what draws people in and keeps them here. If you’ve ever felt supported, encouraged, or at home at HPC and feel like sharing that, it makes a big difference for those looking for a place like this!

Angela Duckworth, the one behind the quote in this post, literally studies grit for a living. She even wrote a whole book on what it really takes to accomplish meaningful, hard things. *Sign me up*

Her research points to four things that consistently build grit: interest, practice, purpose, and hope. So, here’s your Monday reminder. In anything you want to accomplish:

Interest. You have to care. Not every day will feel exciting, but there has to be something about it that pulls you forward. If it doesn’t matter to you, it won’t last when it gets inconvenient.

Practice. This is the unglamorous part. The steady effort. The reps that don’t look impressive. The habits that feel ordinary. Most people don’t quit because they’re incapable. They quit because they stop showing up consistently.

Purpose. At some point, you have to trust that what you’re doing right now counts. That the small, disciplined choices are building something bigger than today.

Hope. The belief that you can handle what’s ahead. Not perfectly. Not effortlessly. Just steadily.

"Endurance is common. Endurance is rare." - Angela Duckworth
"Don't just start. Stay too." - Holly Pelzer 😉

🗻23 people. 5 months of Prep. 14,000ft Summit in Colorado air. 🗻

Starting tomorrow, a courageous group of people are taking on an amazing goal. One that will tap into both mental and physical strength, along with relying on their community to get them to the top. It's the recipe for success--planning, preparation, showing up, and the people you surround yourself with.

I wanted to take a moment to give a shoutout to all that said yes to the Summit Project 2026. Higher Purpose Coaching will be traveling back-to-back, with two separate groups this year. These moments have proven over and over again, that when we rise to the challenge, we come back positively different. New outlook, new energy, and new friends too.

Group 1: Julie Behrmann, Aarek Behrmann, Mel Odden, Chris Odden, Tami Wattnem, Mary Kay Pfannenstein, Jenny Giambruno, Nick Ziegelmann, BreAnn Miller, Lisa Bertram, Shane Ulven, Bev Supan

Group 2: Chad Leither, Hannah Leither, Matt Perry, Sam Novak, Steve Luitjens, Jenn Garding, Karmen O'Bando, Caroline Tykwinski, Kristina Tykwinski, Lisa Fiksen

Feel free to follow along with this incredible group and send some encouragement as they take this thing on. Here's to continuously cracking into our full potential, seeing beautiful places, and doing amazing things with our bodies because WE CAN.

BIG NEWS - Yoga classes led by Lezlee Franke are coming to the HPC space at the end of January! 😆

This has been a great opportunity to help make this happen by opening the HPC space to yoga—supporting well-rounded movement, intentional recovery, and stronger results alongside strength training.

Before we dive in further, I want to be clear that this is open to all, including both HPC members and those from the surrounding community.

🧘 TRIAL CLASS DATES:
Wednesdays — January 21 & January 28
6:00–7:00 PM
Held in the HPC gym space - 49 3rd St NE, Waite Park, 56387

💵 CLASS FEE
$15 per class
Payment via Venmo or cash at class (no checks) payable to Lezlee.

📝 NO SIGN UP REQUIRED - But, a quick heads up on if you are planning to attend would be appreciated.😁
We do ask that you arrive about 10 minutes early to give yourself time to set up and settle into the space.

WHAT TO BRING:
Please bring a yoga mat. Blocks and a strap are optional if you have them, but not required—poses can be adapted without them.

ABOUT THE CLASS:
This is a slower-paced, intentional class designed for all experience levels. The focus will be on flexibility, mobility, balance, strength, and breath-led movement. You’ll spend time in each pose to tune into how your body feels, with variations offered to support different levels of experience. Come as you are and leave feeling refreshed, centered, and strong.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Lezlee brings over 20 years of yoga practice and teaches with a calm, supportive approach rooted in foundational alignment and breathwork. Her goal is to make yoga accessible and confidence-building for everyone. Outside of instructing, she loves connecting movement and nature through hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and paddleboarding—and I'm excited to have her bringing this energy into the HPC space.

If you’ve been curious about yoga, looking to improve mobility and balance, or simply wanting a slower, intentional way to move, this is a great opportunity to check it out.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED THE OPENING NIGHT FOR THE UPCOMING SUMMIT PROJECT!

Having 21 people sitting in a circle, openly talking about commitment, effort, and what it means to come together in pursuit of something meaningful, was powerful. That energy and shared intention is exactly what this experience is built on.

Our sights are set on a 14,000-foot mountain in Colorado, but the summit itself is only part of the journey. What matters most is the process—training with purpose, showing up consistently, and building a strong community along the way.

If this project is even slightly on your radar, I strongly encourage you reach out through email, so I can send you an application ASAP. Email: coachpelzer.holly@gmail.com

Applications close Friday, January 9th

Selections will be finalized by January 14th

The official process begins January 26th

Filling out an application does not obligate you—it simply opens the door for conversation and helps determine fit as we move forward intentionally.

Grateful for the people, the conversation, and what’s ahead!

THE SUMMIT PROJECT — OPENING NIGHT

Join me for an in-depth look at The Summit Project, a guided training and adventure experience designed to prepare you—physically and mentally—to hike a Colorado 14er.

On January 6th at 5:45 PM at HPC Performance Center (Waite Park), we’ll walk through what the project truly entails: preparation expectations, what’s included, overall cost, and the level of commitment required to safely and successfully reach the summit.

This experience is about more than reaching the top. It’s about building discipline, resilience, and alignment that carries into everyday life.

Applications close January 9th.
Submitting an application does not require full commitment—it’s a way to express interest, share your “why,” and begin a conversation around fit and readiness.

📍Address: 49 3rd St NE, Watie Park, MN 56387
👥My doors are open for anyone to join in on this informative meeting--both members and nonmembers.

Ruck Trek Blitz was built on a simple idea:
get outside if you can and just move — consistently.

Three months. Three phases. One focus.

October – Ruck: 1 mile per day for 31 days

November – Trek: 200,000 steps over the month

December – Blitz: 12 outdoor workouts, 20 minutes each — no exceptions

Nothing extreme. Nothing flashy. Just attainable goals designed to be followed through on — even on cold mornings, dark evenings, and busy days.

And this group delivered.

Miles turned into more miles. Steps stacked faster than expected. Short outdoor workouts became something people actually looked forward to. Every goal was surpassed — not because they were easy, but because they were realistic and sustainable.

Over the last three months, this group chose movement on hard days, connection when it mattered, and follow-through even when motivation was low.

The takeaway is simple and powerful: when you step outside, keep promises to yourself, and do it alongside others, you become capable of far more than you expect.

What a success. Huge congratulations to everyone who participated — be proud of the time you invested in your mental, physical, and emotional well-being.

Because something as simple as a walk can do more than we think.

This last month I wanted the prize to be gym focused so I'm giving away one free month of group strength training to two individuals. The winners that were drawn are Jenny Giambruno & Heather Hoffman Blais! Congratulations ladies!
