In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we are opening up a conversation that is often whispered about but rarely addressed head-on in our churches. For those of us walking with Jesus, how do we navigate a mental health diagnosis?

We often look to Ephesians 6:12, which reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces. But how do we apply this truth alongside the reality of psychological and physical health? Does a spiritual battle mean we should bypass professional help, or can prayer and medicine work hand-in-hand?

We want to hear from you. If you or a loved one are a Christian navigating a mental health journey, please share your story in the comments. What role has your faith played in your struggle? Let’s shine a light on this together.

🌿 April is Stress Awareness Month

This is your reminder—you don’t have to carry everything all at once.

✨ Pause.
✨ Breathe.
✨ Reset.

You are allowed to take breaks. Step away when you need to.
You are allowed to say no.
You are allowed to protect your peace without feeling guilty.

Progress doesn’t come from constant pressure—
it comes from balance, care, and giving yourself the same compassion you offer others. 💚

Whatever you’re facing right now, take it one step at a time.
You’ve made it this far—and that already says so much about your strength.

Be kind to yourself today.
Release what’s weighing you down.
Choose one small thing that helps you feel lighter.

Because sometimes, small pauses lead to big clarity…
and caring for your mind is never a waste of time—
it’s an investment in your strength.

🤍 Our Hearts Are Heavy 🤍

Today, we pause as a mental health community to grieve a heartbreaking loss. We are holding the family, loved ones, colleagues, and clients of a fellow therapist in our prayers after the tragic passing of Rebecca White, a Winter Park mental health counselor.

This devastating event has deeply impacted many and reminds us how sacred, vulnerable, and courageous the work of helping professionals truly is. We stand in solidarity with our therapist family and all those affected by this unimaginable loss.

🕊️
Please continue to lift them up in prayer.

🤍 With compassion,
A Helping Hand Counseling Center

It all happened around 9 p.m. on Monday at White's office in a building off of Lee Road in Winter Park.

Start-of-week check-in: a simple loop to keep you steady and growing.
My #1 priority this week is: [finish the project brief / establish a morning routine / call my mom / ...]. If I get stuck, I’ll remember: [pause and breathe for 4 counts / name the feeling / take a 2-minute walk]. When I feel overwhelmed, I’ll pause and ask myself, “What’s one small step I can take right now?” I want to do less, I want to do more, I want to feel [calmer], and I want to feel [focused]. This week, I want to feel [grateful], and [energized]. Here’s to a mindful, doable week. 💪✨

Comment your top priority for the week or share one small step you’ll take today. We’ve got this together!
