Giving these dancers a chance to reset their nervous system was very rewarding. A dancer‘s life is endless auditions and rehearsals and injuries . This becomes very stressful and can send the dancer into endless fight and flight mode creating havoc on the nervous system. There are modalities that can help regulate sound bath Nidra is only one of them. I was honored to help them in anyway and allow them to take this practice home with them.

Why women's bodies hold stress differently.

If you've ever wondered why stress hits you harder than it seems to hit the men in your life—

It's not in your head.
It's in your biology.

Here's what's actually happening:

HORMONES + STRESS = DIFFERENT STORY

Estrogen and progesterone (hormones that fluctuate throughout your cycle) directly affect your stress response.

Week 1-2 of cycle: Stress feels manageable
Week 3-4 of cycle: The same stress feels overwhelming

Same stress. Different nervous system capacity.

Then add perimenopause.

When your hormones start fluctuating wildly, your stress response goes with them.

One day you're fine.
The next day you're rage-crying over dishes in the sink.

It's not you losing it.
It's your nervous system trying to regulate on a hormonal roller coaster.

THE EMOTIONAL LABOR FACTOR

Women are also more likely to carry emotional labor:
- Tracking everyone's schedules
- Managing relationships
- Noticing what needs to be done
- Keeping the peace

This is invisible stress.

Your nervous system registers it as low-level threat all day long.

Your body never fully relaxes.

THE TEND-AND-BEFRIEND RESPONSE

When stressed, men typically get fight-or-flight.

Women? We get "tend and befriend."

We don't run. We take care of everyone else first.

We stuff our own stress down to manage everyone else's.

Until our nervous system has nowhere left to put it.

THIS IS WHY:

Bubble baths don't fix it.
Self-care Sunday doesn't touch it.
"Just relax" makes it worse.

Your nervous system needs tools that work with your biology.

Not generic stress management.
Nervous system healing that understands what your body is actually dealing with.

You're not too sensitive.
You're not overreacting.

Your body is just processing more, and it needs support that actually matches what it's up against.
