IV Nurse Week – January 26-30
IV Nurse Week recognizes the essential role of infusion nurses. Infusion nurses are Registered Nurses who administer medications and fluids intravenously, managing complex therapies like chemotherapy, biologics, hydration, and pain management for patients with chronic or acute conditions. Infusion nurses are specially trained in IV access, patient monitoring, education, documentation, equipment management, and specialized care.

Follow these tips to help keep you and your loved ones safe from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning:

- Install UL-approved CO alarms centrally outside each sleeping area and on every level of your home, including the basement.
- Test your CO alarms monthly and replace batteries annually, or as recommended.
- Never use generators, grills, or camping stoves inside, in garages, or near vents.
- Keep furnace, water heater, and dryer vents clear of snow and debris.
- Have furnaces, water heaters, and chimneys professionally inspected and serviced annually.
- Ensure flue pipes and connections are tight and well-fitted.
- Never run a vehicle in an attached garage, even with the door open, as exhaust can quickly fill your home.

If your alarm sounds:

1) Get out. Immediately move everyone (including pets) to fresh air outside.
2) Call for help. Once outside, call 911.
3) Stay out. Do not re-enter until emergency responders say it’s safe to do so.
