I’ve spent a lot of years living in “functional freeze”. Being told “you handle things so well”, or “you’re so resilient, so strong”. And in some ways I understand those comments because from the outside we look calm, cool, collected and we still basically function almost as if normal day to day. But it feels way different on the inside.
