🌟 Spotlight Time Again..next up SHELBY LANG! 🌟

If you’ve been around Home of the Flint Hills, you already know Shelby is basically part of the foundation — literally! She was here when this place was nothing more than a dream and a patch of ground. No building, no walls… just a vision. She helped turn it into the amazing community we have today!

Fast-forward 9 years, and Shelby has grown into our Financial Manager and Marketer — but let’s be real… she does way more than her job title. Need help? Shelby’s already there. Need something done? Shelby’s probably already doing it. She’s that “get-it-done” teammate everyone wishes they had! 💪✨

At home, Shelby has been married 6 years and is the supermom of three kiddos five and under — so yes, she’s basically running a small preschool AND a household. Somehow, she still squeezes in time with her family, her dogs, and plays softball and volleyball.

Families and residents love her just as much as we do. We hear all the time about her kindness, patience, honesty, and how she makes the whole process feel easier and more comforting.

Shelby truly makes a difference here because she leads with heart — and we are SO lucky to have her. 🩷✨

✨ Thankful Thursday Spotlight: Kristie Jones✨

Today we are going to celebrate two of our longest term, dedicated and loyal team members from our St. George Community!

If you’ve ever wondered who keeps our community running behinds the scenes like a well-oiled machine… it’s Kristie Jones, our amazing Administrative Coordinator!

Kristie juggles multiple resident services every single day to make sure our residents’ needs are met and their smiles stay BIG. She’s basically the behind-the-scenes superhero we all wish we could be! 🦸‍♀️💛

With 15 years of healthcare experience and 7 years with us—starting on day one when our doors first opened—Kristie has grown right alongside our community.

Kristie absolutely adores our residents, and you can feel it the second she interacts with them. She has a special gift when it comes to our dementia residents—a calming, caring, special touch that is truly one of a kind. ✨

And let’s be honest… if someone on the team needs help, Kristie is always jumping in, rolling up her sleeves, and making things happen.

Kristie has one daughter and loves Kstate Football! In her spare time you will find her spending time with her family or curling up with a good book.

We are beyond thankful for her dedication, her heart, and everything she does to make our home the best place for seniors to live. We love you, Kristie! 💛🎉

🌟 Thankful Thursday: Amy Unruh🌟

We are so grateful for Amy Unruh, who has been an incredible RN Supervisor with us for the past 5 years and a dedicated nurse for 18 years. Her clinical skills are truly second to none — in fact, she’s lovingly known as our “Wound Whisperer” for her amazing ability to help heal even the toughest wounds!

Amy’s heart for our residents shines every single day. She loves spending time with them, taking them on drives, and giving each person the thoughtful, compassionate care they deserve. She is exceptional with our dementia residents and has a gift for bringing comfort, patience, and joy into their lives.

Outside of work, Amy is a proud mom of two and absolutely adores spoiling her grandkids. In her downtime, you’ll find her at sporting events, shopping, or loving on her dog.

We are so thankful for everything Amy brings to our community. Please help us celebrate her dedication, compassion, and the countless lives she touches!🩷

🌟 Thankful Thursday: Tyrone Grant! 🌟

For the past two years, Tyrone has been the heart of our Memory Care Home kitchen. His fun chef uniforms always brighten our halls, and his incredible cooking brings comfort and joy to everyone here.

Tyrone has been married for 26 wonderful years, is a proud dad of five, and loves spending time with his many grandkids. When he’s not creating amazing meals or firing up the grill, he’s jumping in to help his dietary teammates wherever he’s needed.

Our residents especially adore when Tyrone sings and dances to the oldies—his energy fills the room with smiles every single time. 💙

We are so thankful for you, Tyrone, and everything you bring to our community! 👨‍🍳✨

✨ Thankful Thursday Spotlight! ✨

Today we’re celebrating three amazing team members from our St. George community!

Let’s start with Emily Welfringer. She has been an RN Supervisor in our community for the past 4 years and a nurse for 14 years. Emily joined us during the pandemic and helped guide our team and residents through one of the most challenging seasons—we will forever appreciate her strength, compassion, and dedication.

Emily has been married for 21 years and is a proud mom of two. She loves to travel and stay active, but her greatest joy is spending quality time with her family. ❤️

She is a truly caring nurse who brings warmth, comfort, and joy to both our residents and their families. We regularly receive praise about her kindness, communication, and the special way she makes everyone feel seen and valued. On top of that, she’s incredibly creative and always surprises people with the most thoughtful gifts!

Thank you, Emily, for all you do. We are so blessed to have you on our team! 🌟

Residents had fun this week making sweet turkey treats. Helped staff slice & cut up apples 🍎for baked apples with ice cream & enjoyed an evening sitting around the table talking & reminicing about the beautiful sunset!

Today is Thankful Thursday!

Brielle Moore is a Certified Medication Aide who has worked in our memory care home for the last year. We are truly thankful for the dedication, patience, and attention to details she brings to the team everyday. Our residents can always count on her to ensure the home runs smoothly! Bree enjoys reading, loves her dogs, and adores her husband.

Kati Rivera Hernandez is a kind compassionate Certified Medication Aide who also has worked in our memory care home for over a year now. We are thankful for her reliability and the strong work ethic which helps uphold high standard of care even on challenging days. Kati just got married this year and she enjoys baking, reading, and just relaxing at home.

We are thankful for Bree and Kati because they are a powerhouse team that together shows everyday how much they love the residents!
