We’re excited to kick off our Food Drive — running now through the end of the year!

Join us in supporting local families by donating non-perishable food items. Every can, box, and bag makes a meaningful difference.

Drop off your items anytime during office hours, and help us spread kindness this holiday season. Together, we can make sure no table goes empty.

Thank you for caring, sharing, and lifting up our community.

Let’s fill those bins!

Today we continue our Veterans Tribute by sharing another powerful story of courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication.

My name is Travis Wood. I was injured during a combat mission on January 15, 2007, when an IED struck the vehicle I was in. I served in the U.S. Army for 12 years and separated honorably as a Staff Sergeant (E-6).

Join us in honoring Travis and all who have served as we share more stories throughout Veterans Month.

Today, we’re proud to honor Roland Marchand.

My name is Roland Marchand. I joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1966 at just 17 years old. I served in Vietnam for nine months before being severely wounded in January 1968 by an 82mm Chinese mortar round. The explosion took my left leg and caused massive internal injuries. I spent nine months recovering at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Guam before being transferred to Oak Knoll Naval Hospital in California for rehabilitation, where I learned to walk again with an artificial leg. I was honorably discharged in September 1968, three months short of completing two years of active duty, with the rank of Corporal.

Roland, your courage and perseverance remind us what true strength looks like. Your story continues to inspire everyone around you.

Follow along with us throughout November as we continue to share stories honoring the brave Veterans in our community.

Each story of service reminds us of the many ways our veterans have stood ready to protect and serve. Today, we’re honored to highlight Larry A. Rogers.

My name is Larry A. Rogers. I served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1961 to 1968. I was assigned to an artillery support unit at Fort Douglas in Salt Lake City. I completed my basic training at Fort Ord, California, and then went on to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, for advanced training.

During my service, I reached the rank of E4 and worked in artillery support—driving and firing tanks and other high-powered cannons and guns. Though I didn’t see combat or serve overseas, my unit was placed on alert during the Berlin Crisis.

Your service and readiness, Larry, reflect the true spirit of dedication that continues to strengthen our nation and our community.

Today, we honor James “Jim” Hewlett.

Jim entered the U.S. Army after being drafted on his 21st birthday. Following basic and AIT training, he was stationed in Idar Oberstein, Germany, where he served as the commander’s driver with the 522 Quartermaster in Strassburg Kaserne, Nahbollenbach Army Depot.

After his stint in the Army, Jim began his love of the arts, teaching as an Art Specialist for the Department of Defense in Europe for several years. He taught drawing, watercolor, acrylics, ceramics, leatherwork, silversmithing, photography, and woodworking. Jim also led many art appreciation tours throughout Europe for off-duty military members and their families.

Later, Jim decided on a different career path in Orthotics. He is a Board Certified Orthotist with both the ABC (American Board of Certification) and the BOC (Board of Certification for Orthotics and Prosthetics). Jim stepped away from the arts for more than 45 years until retiring his practice in Arizona and moving to Southern Utah, where he and his wife built their retirement home, complete with an art studio and gallery.

Jim has since begun drawing and painting once again. He is an award-winning artist with works that have been displayed in four different galleries in St. George. He also owns his own gallery, and his art is part of collections around the world.

Over the last few years, Jim has volunteered at the St. George Children’s Museum, teaching watercolor classes to children ages 7–11. He continues to offer his critical thinking skills to the Southern Utah community by providing clinical oversight, teaching, and mentoring at Freedom Prosthetics and Orthotics in St. George, Utah.

We are deeply grateful for Jim — for his service to our country, his dedication to his craft, and his continued impact here at Freedom Prosthetics and Orthotics.

🎃 Happy Halloween from all of us at Freedom Prosthetics & Orthotics! 👻

We had a spooktacular time celebrating together — pumpkins, costumes, and lots of laughs!

This year’s pumpkin contest was a close one:
🥇 Debrah’s “Cousin It” pumpkin took 1st place with 11 votes!
🥈 Landen’s “Mike Wazowski” pumpkin was right behind with 10 votes!

We hope your day is filled with sweet treats, fun costumes, and a little friendly competition too.
From our team to you — Happy Halloween!

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since these two joined the Freedom Prosthetics & Orthotics family. From day one, they’ve brought so much energy, dedication, and heart to everything they do. 💙

Hafa and Landen, thank you for always going above and beyond for our patients and our team. You both make Freedom a better place every single day, and we’re so lucky to have you.

Here’s to many more years of laughter, teamwork, and changing lives together!

A few weeks ago, we had the chance to celebrate Boss’s Day — one of our favorite reasons to pause and appreciate.

Peter puts his whole heart into this office and sets an incredible example both inside and outside the facility. He cares deeply about his team here at Freedom Prosthetics and Orthotics, as well as every patient who walks through our doors.

We loved spending the day celebrating him and all he does for our team.

Thank you for everything you do, Peter! 💙
