Governor Tina Kotek has proclaimed March 2026 as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in Oregon.

People with developmental disabilities are valued members of our communities as friends, neighbors, coworkers, and leaders.

This month reminds us of an important principle from the disability rights movement:

Nothing About Us Without Us.

Inclusion means ensuring people with developmental disabilities are part of the conversations and decisions that affect their lives.

CCMH is an equal opportunity employer.

Gender equality isn’t only a policy conversation. It’s a mental health conversation.

When people face barriers to safety, healthcare, and economic opportunity, the impact reaches far beyond policy. These inequities shape stress levels, access to care, and overall wellbeing.

Mental health is deeply connected to the conditions people live in.

At CCMH, we believe that stronger equity leads to stronger communities.

What does a healthy and equitable community look like to you?

“Nothing About Us Without Us” is more than a phrase. It’s a reminder that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities must be included in the conversations and decisions that affect their lives.

True inclusion means listening to lived experiences, valuing self advocacy, and ensuring people with I/DD have a voice in their communities, workplaces, schools, healthcare, and services.

At CCMH, we believe that meaningful participation leads to stronger supports, better services, and more inclusive communities for everyone.
