Some folks have asked me why my session fee is low. Let me say, I have formally closed my long time practice in March of this year. Since then, I have decided to pursue the most recent venture, as a way to give back to the communities I have served over the years. My 'low' fee is set to make quality counseling services available to EVERYONE! Insurances have a tendency to be discriminatory - if you have the money, you usually can afford the insurance. They also discriminate by requiring prior approval and sometimes, even with prior approval, they elect not to pay your provider! I have always had issues with, what I call, the 'insurance racket'.

Dr. Drozd's Psychology practice will stop accepting assignment of benefits with all insurance carriers and will be moving to a payment at the time of visit model. We are also working on developing our Telehealth program. This change will occur effective April 1, 2021. Not having to deal with the hassles of insurance billing and thereby experiencing an improved money flow due to a direct payment process, the cost of all therapy / consultation sessions will be reduced by 50% percent from our current rates. This results in a win for both the practice and the patients. This makes our services available to all! Lastly, not processing treatment claims through insurance companies also effectively improves a patient's overall confidentiality of care. This is a critical benefit at a time of massive governmental intrusion and persistent attacks against personal privacy. My psychological practice has been designated as 26th out of the 232 psychological practices within the Sparrow Network. This recognition of the quality, efficacy and cost effectiveness of my practice makes us eligible for Value Based Reimbursement. The VRB fee schedule will now reimburse our office at a level of 110%. We are both happy and proud of this nomination and recognition.
