Employee spotlight – Liz S. – Assistant Director of Nursing

Liz was recently promoted to be our Assistant Director of Nursing. In 2015, she started working at Hazel Findlay as a dietary aide. After taking the CNA class in 2016, she continued working here until starting nursing school. Liz returned to Hazel Findlay as an RN in 2023. Liz also has experience working at Sparrow and Memorial hospitals.

The daughter of two MSU employees, Liz loves the Spartans. Her dream trip was when she traveled to Hawaii in 2016.

What do you like best about working at Hazel Findlay? “Being the family for residents when their own families are unable to be with them.”

Fun facts – “I love baking and always have some yummy treats for my coworkers (and some residents) whenever I am working.”

Update on our painted lady butterflies!

They grew sooo quickly! And have now all formed their chrysalis.
We just moved them into their butterfly habitat...now we wait!

We have some fuzzy visitors who will be with us for a couple of weeks! Have you ever had a 'Cup of Caterpillars' before? Our residents and staff will enjoy watching the caterpillars grow. We look forward to releasing them when they become monarch butterflies.

We are looking for a few wonderful people to join our work family! Positions are available in both housekeeping and dietary.

Two part-time positions are currently available in the dietary department. The position helps prepare food, delivers meals, performs wait service duties, washes dishes (machine and hand wash) and puts stock away.

A full-time position is available in the housekeeping department. Housekeepers clean, sanitize, and maintain cleanliness throughout the facility, assisting in providing a sanitary and comfortable environment.

Employee spotlight – Michaela S. – Resident Care Assistant/Certified Nursing Assistant (RCA/CNA)

Michaela started at Hazel Findlay in October after earning her CNA. She is a senior at Fowler High School. Michaela has AED and CPR certifications that she earned while participating in the Allied Health Clinton County RESA program.

What do you like best about working at Hazel Findlay? “I love interacting with our residents here in a personal way. Assisting them in their specific needs is so rewarding. I love talking with them and getting to know them individually.”

Fun facts – “I will begin attending Franciscan University in Steubenville in the fall to pursue a career in nursing.”
